Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Senior Engineer (Dry Utilities) to join our dynamic team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. As a key member of our engineering department, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and implementing dry utility systems for various infrastructure projects across the region.
- Develop and review dry utilities master plans, including demand load calculations and tie-in point requirements
- Design and oversee the implementation of electrical, telecommunications, and gas distribution systems for large-scale infrastructure projects
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of dry utility systems with other project components
- Prepare and review technical deliverables in compliance with local authority and town planning department requirements
- Conduct design reviews, attend client meetings, and lead dry utilities design presentations
- Analyze and resolve complex engineering challenges related to dry utility systems
- Develop innovative and sustainable solutions for energy-efficient dry utility designs
- Ensure all designs meet safety standards, local building codes, and regulations
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of team capabilities
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in dry utility engineering
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field from an accredited university
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in dry utility engineering, with a focus on projects in the Middle East, particularly in the UAE
- In-depth knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and standards in Abu Dhabi and the UAE
- Proven expertise in designing and managing complex dry utility systems, including electrical, telecommunications, and gas distribution
- Strong technical skills in design calculation techniques, including street lighting, cable sizing, voltage drop analysis, and fault level calculations
- Proficiency in industry-standard software such as Dialux, AGI, Lighting Reality, Amtech, and ETAP
- Experience with sustainable and energy-efficient dry utility designs
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a detail-oriented approach
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is a plus
- Familiarity with GIS (Geographic Information Systems) for utility mapping
- Up-to-date knowledge of safety standards and best practices in utility engineering
- Demonstrated ability to innovate and implement efficient solutions in dry utility projects
