Job Description
AECOM Technical Services, Inc., is seeking an Inspector III in Orlando, FL.
Job responsibilities:
- Responsible for field inspections and documentation of roadway and bridge construction projects
- Ensure compliance with applicable contract documents, design plans, and specifications
- Coordinate with construction contractors, clients, and project management staff on project-related issues
- Help oversee and manage other project field inspection staff
- Prepare and submit daily work reports and inspection test results
- Aid and participate in resolving field construction-related issues
- Conduct materials inspection and field testing for concrete, earthwork, and asphalt
- Participate in project progress meetings with the client and contractor
- Perform detailed review of project plans for constructability issues and conflicts
- Coordinate with utility owners within the project limits to adjust facilities in conflict with proposed work
- Accurately track work quantities completed in the field
- Review contractors’ payment applications to ensure compliance with work completed
- Manage 1–3 junior inspectors
Qualifications
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field and 2 years of work experience in job offered or in a related occupation.
Position requires experience in the following:
- Understanding of construction practices and contractor’s means and methods use in the construction of roadway and bridge projects in varying complexities;
- Material testing and reviewing certification requirements for asphalt, earthwork and concrete;
- Project technical specifications related to roadway constructions elements including storm drainage installation, earthwork excavation and embankment, asphalt pavement, lighting and
- signalization;
- Reviewing construction plans and performing detailed inspections of work completed in the field;
- MS Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams;
- Participation in client and contractor meetings and delivering project performance and status; and
- Reviewing detailed project schedules prepared in MS Excel, MS Project or Primavera P6.
