Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer (m/f/d) to join our team in Essen, Germany. As a key member of our engineering department, you will lead and manage complex geotechnical projects, providing expert guidance and innovative solutions to challenging soil and foundation issues.
- Manage and oversee large-scale geotechnical engineering projects from inception to completion
- Conduct advanced geotechnical analyses, including soil mechanics, foundation design, and slope stability assessments
- Develop and review geotechnical reports, technical specifications, and design recommendations
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate geotechnical considerations into overall project designs
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering their professional development
- Ensure compliance with local and international geotechnical standards and regulations
- Participate in business development activities and client meetings to secure new projects
- Stay current with emerging technologies and methodologies in the field of geotechnical engineering
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or a closely related field
- Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent German certification
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with a proven track record of managing complex projects
- Advanced knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles, soil mechanics, foundation design, and slope stability analysis
- Proficiency in geotechnical software such as PLAXIS and GeoStudio
- Strong skills in AutoCAD and other relevant design software
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Outstanding project management skills, including the ability to lead teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to produce high-quality technical reports
- Expertise in local and international geotechnical standards and regulations
- Willingness to travel to project sites as needed
- Fluency in English; German language skills are highly advantageous
