Job Description
AECOM has a position available for a Civil/Structural Designer to support our growing Energy Practice.
AECOM offers the freedom and flexibility to work remotely and/or be located at a variety of Energy offices located in multiple locations across the United States.
Our team provides a wide range of civil and structural engineering services across markets sectors including electrical transmission and distribution (OH/UG power systems, substations, EV charging networks, microgrid design, etc.), renewables (Solar PV, Battery Energy Storage Systems, Wind), industrial process (Oil & Gas, petrochemical), building decarbonization and next generation energy (hydrogen, fuel cells, carbon capture, etc.). We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to develop within and further the technical skills we bring to our new and existing client base.
The responsibilities of this role also include, but may not be limited to, the following:
• Works under general supervision
• Performs both routine and non-routine, drafting assignments, scale and edit assignments involving the use of computer aided design and drafting equipment and other graphics software (e.g. CADD software) to achieve set results and deadlines
• Digitize or trace sketches or concepts from designers using CADD software, such as AutoCAD or MicroStation
• Decisions made with general understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines
• Follows established procedures and requires instructions only on new assignments

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- BA/BS + 2 Years of more of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Preferred Requirements:
- Associate's degree in CAD, Drafting, or a related field
- 3-5 years of experience as a CAD Technician or in a similar role
- Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar platforms
- Strong skills in 3D modeling and 2D drafting
- Excellent technical drawing and blueprint interpretation abilities
- In-depth knowledge of industry standards and regulations
- Experience with project management tools
- Understanding of design principles and manufacturing processes
- Knowledge of material properties and specifications
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Ability to work efficiently and meet project deadlines
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
