Job Description

An exciting role as Associate Director of Structural Engineering in our Building Structures Team in Sydney office presents an opportunity to help achieve transformational outcomes for our clients, working with global experts to address the complex building and infrastructure challenges of a transitioning economy and growing region.

In joining our dynamic NSW and ACT Team, you will report directly to the team lead and contribute to the planning, design, and delivery of our growing portfolio of projects throughout Australia and provide our clients with brilliant and innovative solutions.

What will a day in this role look like:

  • Build AECOM’s brand, reputation and relationships with key clients.
  • Win work that aligns with our strategy, bringing the best of global AECOM to the NSW and ACT region.
  • Lead project teams in technical excellence in structure projects.
  • Mentor and coach early professionals in technical, project management and client engagement fields.
  • Preparing fee proposals in collaboration with AECOM BID and pursuit team.

Qualifications

What are we looking for from you?

  • Bachelor of Civil Engineering or equivalent with more than 15 years of consultancy (preferred) experience in delivery of structural engineering projects
  • Strong technical competence in structural design, Demonstrated understanding of Australian codes, standards and regulations
  • High-level knowledge of engineering design software, such as ETABS, SPACEGASS, RAPT and RAM Concept
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to develop and maintain a strong working relationship with clients, contractors, consultants and other stakeholders
  • Strong competency in project and commercial management
  • Personal drive to be the best in the industry and develop others to strive for the same
  • Please note due to the nature of this role, Australian Citizenship is preferred
