Are you passionate about shaping the future of transportation in the Middle East? Join AECOM's Transportation Team, a leading provider of traffic and transportation planning services within the Civil Infrastructure Business Line. We are dedicated to becoming the most trusted name in transportation planning, focusing on multi-modal transport master planning and transport modeling excellence.
Role Overview
As an Intern Transport Planner at AECOM, you will learn about major urban development and infrastructure projects across the Middle East region, assisting the team in preparing Traffic Impact Studies, Multi-modal Transport Master Plans, and Traffic Engineering solutions.
You will receive training to provide technical support across various service offerings, including:
- Conduct traffic analysis using tools such as Synchro, SIDRA, GIS, and strategic modeling.
- Strategic Multi-Modal Transport Modeling
- Transport Impact Assessments
- Demand Forecasting and Management
- Transport Network/Master Planning
- Transport Policy & Strategy Development
- Traffic Capacity Analysis
- Parking Studies, Layout & Design
- Access Management
- Traffic Signal Timing
- Traffic Engineering
- Micro Traffic Simulation
- Freight Planning and Logistics
- Intelligent Transport Systems
- 3D Modeling & Evaluation
- Road Safety Studies & Operational Reviews
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to project success by providing technical services within agreed project time, quality, and cost objectives.
- Maintain and enhance transport modeling and planning knowledge.
- Continuously improve technical and industry knowledge through participation in forums and industry-related programs.
- Research, analyze, and report on a range of quantitative and qualitative transport modeling and planning projects.
- Undertake modeling and analysis tasks to support project deliverables.
Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering with an interest in Transportation Planning subjects from an accredited University
- Open to students graduating in 2025 or 2026, as well as recent graduates from 2024 seeking work experience in the field.
- One of the key benefits of the internship program is that exceptional interns may be offered a graduate role in our program after completing your studies.
- Successful applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.8 or 2:1 (or equivalent) and above.
