As a result of a healthy project pipeline, AECOM’s Mining and Industrial team has an opportunity for a Structural Engineer with strong project management and technical experience to join the talented team based in Perth. Working as part of a dynamic, consulting environment, you will have the opportunity to work on a range of large multidisciplinary projects within the Mining , Refining, and Industrial sectors.

Our team of industry experts will support the development of your technical and project management capabilities, giving you the opportunity to work across all project phases from studies through to detailed engineering and execution. Working across mining, minerals processing, chemicals and refineries will give you a broad exposure and help build your career.  

What will a day in this role look like:

• Collaborate with industry leaders and technical specialists whilst working as part of a dynamic and consultative team on major mining projects both across Australia and internationally.
• Gain exposure to major mining, heavy industry or industrial operations projects across all phases of the project lifecycle from studies through to detailed engineering and execution.
• Actively participate in the preparation of technical reports and design documentation using your experience as a Structural Engineer i
• Utilising your relevant experience, assist with the development of our upcoming engineers and graduates by advising and mentoring the next generation of engineering consultants.
• Work closely with a team of multi-disciplinary engineers on large projects ensuring project quality, time and budget commitments are met.

What are we looking for from you?

• Relevant tertiary Degree in Civil / Structural engineering and either Chartered (or eligible) member of Engineers Australia.
• Ideally, 8 + years of experience within the Australian Mining / Heavy Industry sectors with knowledge of the design process and relevant standards.
• Experience in Structural Engineering analysis and design with exposure to structural analysis software (SpaceGass and Strand7).
•  Strong technical background with relevant experience in the Mining / Industrial Operations industry for a consultancy or owner.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
