Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Hydrogeologist III to support AECOM's Remediation practice for complex sites. This is a hybrid role that is available anywhere in the United States near an AECOM office. The role will report to management located in Glen Allen, VA.
The ideal candidate for this role would be a fully qualified scientist that utilizes scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. The role requires general familiarity within a broad field of scientific knowledge of reciprocal effects of the work upon other disciplines/fields.
The successful candidate will have the background to interpret and record data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance. The individual who occupies this position solves problems by use of combinations of standard procedures, modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments. They are also responsible for participating in planning required to achieve prescribed objectives.
The job responsibilities for the position will include but are not limited to:
- Conducts analysis and investigation work obtained from a variety of sources.
- Performs inspections and tests to ensure compliance.
- Participates in developing corrective measures and procedures. Formulates hypothesis, performs research and makes recommendations.
- Perform data analysis, modeling, visualizations and interpretations to support complex remediation projects.
- Manage workflows in technical computing, geodatabase, and relational database environments.
- Evaluate remedy performance and support design and implementation of adaptive remedy approaches.
- Support PFAS data analytics practice area.
- Integrate data analysis, visualizations, findings, and interpretations into technical deliverables and reports.
- Work with multi-disciplinary team of scientists and engineers
- Comfortable working with a team toward a common goal, while working independently on individual tasks
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- BA/BS in Geology, Hydrogeology or related field + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Due to the nature of this job, US citizenship is required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's Degree in Geology, Hydrogeology or related field
- 5+ years working with data analysis, modeling, and visualization
- Proficient with 3D volumetric modeling and visualization using Earth Volumetric Studio (EVS)
- Proficient with 3D groundwater modeling and visualization using Groundwater Modeling System (GMS)
- Proficient with integrated spatial analysis and visualization using ESRI ArcGIS Pro
- Experience with data analysis and visualizations in a numeric computing environment·
