At ADGA, our teams support Government and industry partners on projects that protect critical systems and strengthen operational readiness. We are seeking a Senior Navy Exercise Director to provide technical leadership and expertise on complex, high-impact client engagements. 

The successful candidate will lead the delivery of specialized solutions, support and mentor team members, and have an opportunity to contribute across a variety of projects and initiatives. Within this role the successful candidate will support the development and delivery of Fleet Synthetic Training and conduct exercises to ensure that the software and equipment that comprise the Distributed Mission Operations Centre are maintained to a high state of readiness.

This posting is for an anticipated position expected to commence in mid-September. To accommodate the required security clearance process, we are accepting applications in advance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform RCN (Royal Canadian Navy) DMOC (Distributed Mission Operations Centre) and FST (Fleet Synthetic Training) system management services.
  • Support RCN FST strategy, concepts, experimentation and capability development. 
  • Support RCN FST technology development through the identification, analysis, and evaluation of new simulation products to support RCN training objectives. 
  • Support RCN FST exercises, trials, tests and evaluations. 
  • Assist with the delivery of exercise training and demonstrations related to the DMOC and FST. 
  • May be required to assume the role of the DMOC Manager.  Their responsibilities include managing the day-to-day activities of various personnel. 

 

Qualifications

  • Experience using at least 1 of the common synthetic environment or computer general forces software applications such as
    • JSAF, VBS, VR Forces, AWSIM) in a military training environment.
  • 3+ years of experience in one of the following:
    • Coordinating military combat operations or exercises for the Canadian Armed Forces or for an allied military 
    • Coordinating simulated combat operations or exercise for the Canadian Armed Forces or for an allied military.
  • 5+ years of experience: planning, leading, briefing and/or debriefing operational military teams or preparing communication plans, or doing operations analysis.
  • Experience in exercise planning, developing, conducting of DMT (Distributed Mission Training) collective training exercises
  • Experience participating in coalition (joint or combined) military DMT (Distributed Mission Training) exercises.
  • Previous military leadership experience.

Additional Information

  • Must currently hold or be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret (Level II) Canadian Federal Government Security clearance VCR and Controlled Goods clearances.  
  • Must be able to go onsite in Esquimalt, BC 5 days a week 
  • The posted salary reflects an employee compensation model; consultant rates will be adjusted accordingly. We will consider candidates for either employment or consultant arrangements. Consultants will be required to hold a Controlled Goods clearance and Insurance.
