As our Director of Finance (m/f/d), you will play a key role in establishing and shaping a finance function that covers all key finance capabilities for a payment service provider as well as executing on the financial and regulatory strategy. In this role, you will build effective working relationships across departments in the ABOUT YOU Group and with external stakeholders. You will report directly to the Managing Director and you will work closely on the establishment of the finance department with him and steer the financial performance of the Payment Unit of the ABOUT YOU Group.

Responsibilities

• Strategic partner to the management board to develop and implement financial strategies aligned with organizational goals
• Close collaboration with other departments to align on financial strategies 
• Build strong relationships with external partners, including auditors and financial institutions
• Establishing strong finance oversight practices, internal knowledge management practices, and control systems, as well as annual financial & regulatory audit oversight
• Building a strong finance team and all related processes as well as experienced in Group-related finance structures
• Leading a team of internal and external (Group) finance professionals 
• Experience in building financial planning, analysis and reporting models and processes to facilitate company growth 
• Strong analytical skills, with extreme attention to detail, accuracy and accountability balanced with sound business judgment

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
• Several years of practical experience in financial leadership roles (preferably in the payment service provider domain)
• Experience in managing teams 
• Strong analytical skills as well as a comprehensive understanding of numbers 
• Excellent communication skills as well as high intrinsic motivation to actively make a difference
• You enjoy taking the lead, moving things forward quickly, and inspiring others
• Proven track record in a fast-paced entrepreneurial work environment
• Very good command of written and spoken English
