Job Description
The company is looking for an Operations Manager with proven experience to oversee and lead the company's production & molding efforts. As part of this role, the individual will be responsible for managing the company's production across three shifts of a 24/5 operation. The individual should possess expert technical knowledge related to plastic injection molded processing, including processing on small and large tonnage machines.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Molding: • Oversee & execute a data-driven scientific molding process, troubleshooting processing issues and improving cycle times. • Ensure molding processes are current and documented. • Manage the production team to ensure quality and cycle targets are met. • Lead new project implementation on the production floor from initial part processing to final assembly and packaging. • Provide technical leadership for the production department, implementing process, material, and equipment improvements. • Implement in-process controls to maintain product quality. • Develop and mentor the process technician leads on each shift. • Provide technical support and team player attitude with all departments.
Production: • Plans the production schedule of the company. Meets customer promise date requirements, quality, and production goals. • Manage employee performance via training, goal setting, and holding employees accountable for reaching performance standards. • Coordinate the issuing of tool repairs and maintenance work orders. • Prepare and validate production report, ensuring production targets are met and resolve production issues when targets are missed. • Execute KPI goals, including downtime, scrap rates, and OEE. • Recommend capital improvements to the operation that are value added, improving efficiency, quality, safety, or reduction in variable/fixed plant costs. • Develop, implement, and maintain methods, operation sequences, and processes related to molding parts, subcomponents, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies. • Implement automation solutions to reduce waste • Drive Lean/ Continuous Improvement efforts
JOB INFORMATION
- Starting Salary: Starting salary +/- $125K USD per year, based on experience.
- Bonus: 10% - 15% of yearly salary, based on performance (production, scrap, automation, equipment efficiency, employee retention).
- Workweek: M-F 7-4
- This is a salaried Senior position. Schedule will overlap with the different shifts, and it is performance based for the correct operation of a 24-hour facility. This role is responsible and accountable for production.
Qualifications
- REQUIREMENTS • 7+ years of plastic injection molding experience, ability to work with a wide range of injection molding machinery and equipment. • RJG/equivalent expertise. • Program robots & other automation equipment. • Implement automation solutions to improve operational efficiencies. • Strong experience and intimate knowledge of ERP systems, preferably IQMS. • Hands-on, self-starter who is flexible, highly adaptable, and able to work at a fast pace. • Passionate individual with a Growth Mindset. • Direct experience working in automotive plastic injection molding preferred • Fluency in both English and Spanish preferred (English fluency mandatory) • Molding experience in automotive industry highly preferred. • Ability to supervise between 30-50 people.
