Job Description

The Provisioning Specialist focuses primarily on the Distribution piece of our work, though closely tied to the Demo Content production.  You will get to help build demos and keynotes for huge conferences and high profile events.  You'll work across internal 3Sharp teams -  and with technical leadership at Microsoft in cutting edge feature and product releases.  

The Provisioning Specialist is a vital part of the demo creation process, and you will have an opportunity to be the sole owner of the packaging and provisioning process and the voice of those efforts.  This entails working closely with the Demo Content Tech Lead to understand the scope of the demo; "unpack" the the demo content and "repackage" it to conform to specific XML and file structure, test the environment, and then release to the production environment via our provisioning platform.  

In this role, you will get an introduction into lower-complexity development projects, and will gain detailed knowledge of Office 365 technology from both the admin and end-user perspective.  You'll have direct exposure to all parts of the demo creation process, from business development to kickoffs and publication, and all points of execution in between.

Specifically, the Provisioning Specialist will:

  • Map out content changes to support a new or edited demo scenario
  • Working closely with a demo tech lead, make detailed changes to the content pack code to enable content provisioning
  • Communicate updates and risks to the team
  • Edit XML and file structure
  • Work with QA to test using local tools
  • Release verified full content pack to UAT and production environments via provisioning platform
  • Solidify and improves processes and relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Become a trusted advisor on processes, tactics and technologies related to the role, and articulate ideas in a constructive manner
  • Continually learning and iterating on processes and technologies to make our solutions and delivery even better!

Qualifications

Interest in and aptitude for technology solutions, a keen eye for detail, passion for learning, and a positive attitude are the key qualifications!  

  • Experience with creative/development solutions or any other iterative process
  • Demonstrated eye for detail
  • Interest in and aptitude for web technology/solutions - whether personal or professional.  
  • Conceptual understanding of cloud computing and software.  We're not looking for an expert, but you should understand at the broad level computer networks, internet applications and languages, databases, and servers.  You will be working within the structure of Office 365 and need to understand it and how to move within it.
  • Passion, positivity, and enthusiasm for adopting new technologies, customer satisfaction, and supporting your peers
  • ~1 year experience (personal or professional) in creating software-based solutions
  • Coding experience is not required, but XML is plus!  HTML and JavaScript also pluses.
