Background Information
Following the recent conflict emerged across the country, which has impacted millions of young people, we designed this programme to equip aspiring reporters with skills, knowledge, and experience they need to excel in journalism and promote truth, transparency, and social change.
The Young Reporters Fellowship in Sudan provides comprehensive training, hands-on experience, and mentorship to 25 young journalists each year in Sudan. Our programme covers essential topics such as multimedia storytelling, digital journalism, investigative reporting, and ethical journalism practices.
The Partnerships & Communications Manager will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, managing public relations and media outreach, and ensuring effective communication of the fellowship's mission and impact. This role requires a strong background in communications, partnership management, and fluency in English.
Job Description
- Partnership Development: Identify, cultivate, and maintain strategic partnerships with organizations, foundations, and corporate sponsors that align with YRF’s mission and goals.
- Communications Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies to promote YRF’s activities, achievements, and impact through various channels, including social media, website, newsletters, and press releases.
- Media Relations: Manage media outreach and relationships, ensuring positive and effective coverage of YRF’s programmes and events.
- Brand Management: Oversee the organization’s branding and ensure consistent messaging across all platforms and materials.
- Content Creation: Produce high-quality content, including articles, blog posts, reports, and marketing materials that highlight the fellowship’s work and successes.
- Event Management: Plan and execute events, such as conferences, workshops, and fundraising activities, to engage stakeholders and promote YRF’s mission.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the primary contact for partners, donors, and other key stakeholders, providing regular updates and reports on YRF’s progress and impact.
- Evaluation and Reporting: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communication and partnership efforts, providing regular reports to the Executive Director and Board of Directors.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in communications, public relations, partnership development, or a related field, preferably within the non-profit or educational sector.
- Skills: Strong background in communications and partnership management, with proven ability to develop and execute effective communication strategies. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are essential.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives, manage multiple projects, and drive successful outcomes.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to think strategically, analyze challenges, and develop innovative solutions.
