Job Description

Ensure global materials compliance for electronic products by managing product material data, supplier declarations, analytics, and regulatory submissions; Drive data quality, automation, and decision-making across engineering, sourcing, and quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage compliance database - Review, analyse, correct compliance data to maintain the necessary data integrity and validity.
  • Collect, validate, and maintain material compliance data (IPC-1752A/1754, CMRT/EMRT, declarations/certifications, FMDs) from suppliers.
  • Develop scripts/ETL to automate data ingestion, deduplication, and validation from PLM/ERP and supplier portals (APIs, CSV/XML).
  • Own materials compliance data across product BOMs – Perform gap/risk analysis, prioritise supplier outreach and track closure to targets.
  • Prepare and manage regulatory dossiers and customer responses: EU REACH/SCIP, RoHS, EU Battery Regulation, TSCA, Prop 65, WEEE, Conflict Minerals, and emerging PFAS obligations.
  • Build and maintain dashboards and reports (e.g., Power BI/Tableau) for coverage, risk, and programme KPIs.
  • Integrate compliance checks into change control (PCNs/ECOs) and design-for-compliance reviews.
  • Support internal/external audits and provide training to engineering and sourcing teams.
  • Partner with vendors/platforms (e.g., Assent, BOM check, Silicon Expert, Source Intelligence) to scale coverage and data quality.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, database development, or data platform management.
  • Proficiency in SQL, database design, data modelling, and data management ecosystems.
  • Hands-on experience with MS Power BI, Power Query, DAX, etc.
  • Practical ETL experience, including manual data processing using SQL and Python. Experience with engineered ETL pipelines or cloud-based ETL services (e.g., Azure Data Factory) is preferable.
  • Experience in product BOM and PLM/ERP systems (SAP or Oracle) is preferable.
  • Experience with Power Automate and Power Apps is a plus.
  • Familiarity with material compliance (e.g., RoHS, REACH, SCIP, TSCA, Prop 65, Conflict Minerals, PFAS) is an advantage, but not mandatory. Candidates must demonstrate a strong willingness to learn this domain.
  • Proficient in English (written and verbal).
  • Adaptive with strong initiatives, attention-to-detail with a passion for data accuracy, consistency and governance.
