Job Description
Role Summary
- Own in-production engineering for SMPS products, driving reliability, quality, cost, and manufacturability improvements.
- Lead root cause analysis, component lifecycle management, compliance upkeep, and production support across global manufacturing partners.
- Strong candidates are considered for Senior Electrical Engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead various electrical subjects – product testing, failure analysis, engineering improvements, quality and reliability matters.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to sustain SWPS products through their lifecycles.
- Perform debug and verification: efficiency, thermal, regulation, transient, protection features, conducted/radiated EMI pre‑scans, safety tests.
- Develop test plan & procedures, conduct hand-on tests on SWPS products, circuits, and components.
- Drive value engineering and cost reductions, qualify alternate components and suppliers without performance regression.
- Collect test data, generate test reports, and maintain good documentation.
- Design test systems with software and hardware to achieve test automation.
- Conduct FMEA to identify critical and high-risk electrical design, perform evaluation test and risk mitigation.
- Conduct root cause analysis, identify failure mechanisms, derive countermeasures.
Qualifications
- BEng/MEng/MSc in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or equivalent).
- 5+ years in electrical/electronics product development or sustaining engineering.
- Strong analogue/power/digital fundamentals – Able to interpret schematics and circuits, understand component functions and analyze their electrical stresses.
- Experienced in qualifying electronic components and systems, understanding common processes and methods in electronics design and manufacturing.
- Hands-on skills in environmental testing, lab equipment and instruments.
- Conversant with ECAD (e.g., Altium, OrCAD) tools in schematics, PCB, Gerber.
- Proficiency in FMEA, 8D, DOE, and statistical analysis.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 - Office tools, Teams, SharePoint.
- Result-driven, detail-oriented, and passionate for continuous improvements
Nice to Have
- Experience in HV measurement techniques, and lab equipment (HV probes, scopes, etc.).
- Familiar with SMPS topologies: flyback/forward, resonant/LLC, PFC front‑ends, multipliers and HV bias supplies.
- High reliability Industry experience, i.e., medical, industrial, automotive, or aerospace.
