Team and Mission

We are looking for a talented Test Automation Engineer for the newly created Quality Assurance Team to proactively shape and drive our future growth. You are going to be based in Lisbon (14 people at Centro Comercial Alvalade) and you will be part of a highly motivated team, which is partly located also in Zurich.

The Wüest Dimensions Product Team consists of multiple Scrum teams covering the full software lifecycle from conception, prototyping, development, and operations/support. We serve a clientele deeply entrenched in the real estate market, such as valuators, asset managers and financial institutions. Wüest Dimensions, our flagship product is a robust enterprise platform that encompasses a wide array of tasks serving our clientele. This includes developing sophisticated web frontends, managing complex databases and backend systems, implementing statistical models, and creating seamless interfaces with third-party applications. 

Your responsibility 

As our new Test Automation Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products through the following responsibilities:

  • Evaluate, select, and implement the most suitable test automation tools and technologies (e.g., Selenium, Playwright/Cypress, JUnit) based on project requirements and industry best practices. Architect, design, and maintain scalable and reusable test automation frameworks for web applications, and APIs.
  • Create, review, and maintain automated test scripts to ensure they are up-to-date and cover all necessary test cases. Optimize scripts to improve execution efficiency and maintain high coverage.
  • Develop, execute, and debug automated test cases for both UI and API testing.
  • Establish and manage test data strategies that support automated testing, ensuring that test data is consistent, accurate, and reusable across various test cases and environments.
  • Integrate test automation with CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing, quick feedback, and efficient software delivery.
  • Track and report test automation effectiveness, focusing on coverage, performance, and automation metrics. Continuously optimize for improved efficiency and quality.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, DevOps engineers, product managers, and product owners.

Qualifications

Your profile

  • University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; certification in software testing (e.g., ISTQB) is advantageous
  • Extensive experience in test automation, with a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and the role of automated testing within it
  • Proficient in at least one programming language commonly used in test automation (e.g., Java, JavaScript)
  • Hands-on experience with test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Playwright/Cypress, JUnit)
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and how automated testing fits into the DevOps process
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex automation challenges
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal; Portuguese is a plus
