Job Description
Job Title: Assistant Manager –
- Intercompany Reconciliations: Job Purpose: The Assistant Manager – Intercompany Reconciliations will be responsible for managing, reviewing, and resolving intercompany transactions and balances across group entities. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and timely closure of monthly, quarterly, and annual books for a manufacturing organization with multiple legal entities.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Intercompany Accounting & Reconciliation: Perform and oversee monthly intercompany reconciliations across domestic and international group entities.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve intercompany differences related to cost of goods sold, inventory, services, royalties, loans, and other transactions.
- Coordinate with finance teams across group companies to ensure timely confirmations and settlements.
- Monitor intercompany aging, follow up on open items, and ensure timely clearance.Book Closure & Reporting
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities related to intercompany accounts.
- Ensure intercompany transactions are accurately recorded in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QAD etc.,).
- Prepare intercompany schedules for management reporting, audits, and consolidation purposes.
- Assist in group consolidation activities and elimination entries.
- Compliance & Controls: Ensure compliance with Ind AS / IFRS / GAAP and internal accounting policies. Support internal and statutory audits by providing intercompany documentation and explanations. Maintain strong internal controls over intercompany transactions. Ensure adherence to transfer pricing policies and documentation requirements.
- Process Improvement & Automation: Identify opportunities to streamline and automate intercompany processes. Assist in standardizing intercompany accounting procedures across group entities. Support system enhancements, UAT testing, and implementation of best practices.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Act as a key point of contact between group finance teams, shared services, auditors, and tax teams.Provide training and guidance to junior team members on intercompany accounting processes. Willingness and ability to work in a time-zone-flexible environment supporting global operations. Strong cross-cultural communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Timely completion of intercompany reconciliations. Reduction in reconciling items and aging balances. Accuracy in financial reporting. Audit observations related to intercompany transactions. Effectiveness of process improvements implemented.
- Qualifications & ExperienceEducation: Chartered Accountant (CA) / Cost Accountant (CMA) / MBA (Finance) / M.Com
- Experience• 7–10 years of relevant experience in intercompany accounting or reconciliation• Prior experience in a manufacturing or large multi-entity organization preferred• Exposure to shared services or global finance operations is an added advantage
- Required Skills & Competencies, Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of intercompany accounting, reconciliations, and eliminations. Working knowledge of Ind AS / IFRS / GAAP. Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred). Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, reconciliations)Behavioral & Soft Skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and coordination abilities. High attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work under tight timelines and manage multiple stakeholders. Team player with leadership potential
