🧭 About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Group Manager (Logistics) - Procurement Services to join our team and contribute to our client dedicated procurement service delivery team responsible for co-leading (together with client) Logistics category planning and strategy development, benchmarking, collecting market intelligence, managing stakeholders, and developing project pipelines. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to lead the client’s defined strategic sourcing execution process, including building cost models, designing and launching of RFIs/RFPs, evaluating bids, planning and executing negotiation strategies, and making award recommendations. Additionally, this role may be responsible for leading a team of 1-2 offshore resources.

💼 Key Responsibilities

  • Drive year-over-year savings while ensuring quality and service level requirements are met.
  • Frequently interact with senior members of the client’s organization
  • Lead and participate in discussions across levels and cultures.
  • Create a positive work environment and fostering cross-functional and cross-regional collaboration.
  • Develop medium to long-term category strategies for a variety of Logistics sub-categories.
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies through the use of the client’s strategic sourcing process. 
  • Identify cost savings through negotiations, event driven activities, and alternate sourcing strategies to achieve assigned cost saving goals
  • Lead commercial negotiations and drafting contracts
  • Manage overall supplier relationships, including supplier performance, capability development, risk mitigation, cost savings, and quality improvements.
  • May manage the team’s objective setting, performance, career growth, training, and competency development·
  • Act as the escalation point for the source to contract (S2C) team, communicating and resolving operational issues, and escalating to the Regional Delivery Lead as necessary.
  • Lead Category Managers from 3 other regions to develop, share and implement best practices, and where appropriate leveraging market intelligence to drive innovative regional and global category strategies·
  • Manage 1 to 2 off-shore direct reports

Qualifications

📌 Required Qualifications and ✅ Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on knowledge of Logistics sub-categories (including ocean freight, road freight, warehousing, 3PL services)
  • Awareness of Logistics industry, key suppliers, major trends, cost drivers and negotiation levers
  • Deep understanding of strategic sourcing methods and approaches and an ability to apply various concepts to category-level activities at the client
  • Ability to determine the appropriate procurement strategy for assigned categories and business requirements
  • Ability to draft simple to complex contractual agreements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to provide custom solutions to address the client’s challenges
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously
  • Strong leadership skills, including ability to motivate and manage people
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Ability to leverage analytical tools such as Power BI, AI, Python etc. to conduct analysis on logistics data, deriving insights to inform category & negotiation strategies, as well as drive process improvements
  • Ability to manage the complexities of the client service environment
  • Bachelor’s Degree, MBA preferred
  • 10-12 years of work experience strategic sourcing and category management
  • 6 + years of experience with Logistics and related sub-categories

    • Occasional travel to customer sites, for supplier, business partner meetings etc.

Additional Information

💵 Compensation Disclosure

The base salary range for this position is $145K - $189K annually. This range reflects the base pay that we reasonably expect to offer for the role across our hiring locations.

Final compensation will be determined based on a combination of factors, including but not limited to:

  • Geographic location (state and city of residence)
  • Overall professional experience
  • Directly relevant experience
  • Education and certifications
  • Industry knowledge and expertise
  • Skills and competencies

In addition to base pay, this role may be eligible for performance-based bonuses, or incentive pay, or commissions, which are not included in the listed base salary range.
