xEngineer (Backend Oriented) for Wix Code Infrastructure
- Full-time
- City: Tel Aviv
Company Description
Wix makes it possible for anyone to succeed online. Since 2006, we’ve grown to around 4,400 employees in 22 countries, launched over 40 products, and serve over 299 million users and their visitors worldwide. At Wix, we push you to innovate and evolve in non-traditional ways. We operate in collaborative, high-performing teams, building cutting-edge products and leveraging AI to redefine how our users create, manage and grow their dreams online.
Although we’re already industry leaders in web creation and business, our work is nowhere near done. Our goal is to become the main engine of the Internet so we can create a more open web for all.
We're proud to be an equal opportunity employer. Wix was built around the idea that everyone has the right to be successful, online. This same vision defines us as an employer: creating a work environment where everyone is welcome, and anyone has the right to succeed.
Job Description
Join the Wix Code Infrastructure team, where you'll build the foundations that power thousands of web applications. You'll develop serverless solutions, build custom database integrations, and design scalable systems that let Wix users build sophisticated web applications without limits.
Our team owns the critical systems behind our serverless platform. We build infrastructure from the ground up and create custom tooling that lets complex web applications run securely and efficiently at scale. We work closely with DevOps engineers on problems that need innovative approaches and deep technical understanding.
We're hands-on builders. We look under the hood to understand how things work, modify existing solutions where that's the right answer, and create entirely new ones when it isn't.
Qualifications
4+ years of professional backend development experience.
Strong proficiency in at least one backend language (Go, Java/Scala, Node.js or similar).
Experience with distributed systems and microservice architecture.
Solid understanding of database technologies and optimization techniques.
Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Kubernetes, Docker, or similar).
Ability to write clean, maintainable, well-tested code, with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Technical curiosity — you want to know how things work, not just that they work.
Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with a team.
An advantage
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
