JOB TITLE(s):  Network Infrastructure Engineer 

Our client is looking for an IT/Network Engineer in the Bay Area for a full-time position. The candidate will deploy and manage their production and testing network in their datacenter, implement solutions to monitor and proactively identify issues and implement security and IT best practices.

Responsibilities:

• Work with Engineering, System Test and IT group to design, deploy and support production development and testing network data center infrastructure
• Deploy new servers and network devices to be used for our production or testing infrastructure
• Design and implement monitoring solutions, configuration and services backups, security policies and solve IT incidents
• Work with IT group to implement network security with IPSec, Remote Access VPN, Identity Access Management and RBAC
• Monitor LAN infrastructure activity and performance for identifying potential security issues, performance, utilization, QOS
• Utilize available network troubleshooting tools, including network packet captures, monitoring devices, log files, and customer input to facilitate effective issue resolution
• Create network and server rack face elevations, floor plans, wire diagram and details port maps for new deployments and documentation

• Hands-on and in-depth knowledge of Linux Servers, system administration and virtualization technologies and products (VMware ESXi, KVM)
• Familiarity and hands-on configuration experience with networking devices such as switches, routers, firewalls
• Familiarity with Storage technologies and products (TrueNAS, NFS)
• Familiarity working in a data center environment and knowledge of data center procedures
• Demonstrated ability to analyze complex situations and utilize troubleshooting skills, systems, and tools, and have presented creative problem-solving abilities under pressure
• Ability to rack and stack servers and network devices. Requires the ability to frequently bend, lift and move up to 50 pounds of equipment
• Experience with planning and budgeting process

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience with training and certifications
• 5-7 years of hands-on experience working in the IT industry with an emphasis in network engineering
• Familiarity with multiple Network Operating Systems such as Cisco NXOS, Arista EOS, Cumulus Linux, OpenSwitch, SONiC
• Familiarity with open source solutions for networking, security, and storage, such as PFSense and TrueNAS
• Open to change and ready to try out Apstra products and features on a real production network. Ability to work within a global team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with limited supervision
