Job Description

The Sales Manager will be responsible for creating, growing and maintaining relationships which result in business-to-business sales of complex, value oriented products and technologies. You will sell to a set of prospects and customers in the western region of the US. Measurement will be based on success in meeting key objectives of increasing the sales pipeline, building revenue and ensuring customer satisfaction through a variety of account activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Overall accountability for and ownership of sales across the region.

Estimated travel 50-60% depending on location.

Leveraging new and existing relationships to build a sales pipeline.

Interact with target customers/prospects for the purpose of marketing and selling our highly technical solution

Negotiating agreements, supporting customer product integration, and sales planning and forecasting.

Support general marketing activities in order to generate leads, evaluate sales activity effectiveness, understanding competitive strategies, identifying new market and customer opportunities, and evaluate the success and perception of our clients products

Maintain customer and activity information using CRM tools. 

Prepare engagement and sales forecasts by opportunity value and timeframe.

Monitor results against objectives, taking action where necessary.

Provide regular sales input for strategic planning process.

Interface with Product Management to provide customer feedback on product performance and future enhancement requirements. 

Provide input on marketing programs, collateral material and promotional ideas.

Recommend pricing programs to remain competitive.

Qualifications

Qualifications: 

Ability to self-manage and take initiative in a start-up environment.

Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of successful software sales experience in the data center market. 

Knowledge and experience selling virtual compute, storage and/or networking along with solid software sales fundamentals. 

Thorough understanding of “cloud” technologies, market trends and ecosystem.

Posses a large number of existing contacts and partnerships in the cloud computing / enterprise data center market place.

Ability to ‘think on your feet’ in order to address new and changing environments.

Results-oriented with a proven ability to meet and exceed sales goals.

Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Exceptional presentation and sales skills capable of building relationships at all levels.

Ability to manage multiple projects involving a variety of matrix resources.

Strong customer-focused orientation.

Technical experience/education- an advantage
