Job Description
Osler’s People and Governance portfolio is seeking a post-secondary student for a summer placement to support a range of high-impact initiatives at the intersection of governance, strategy and people. These priority initiatives are key in advancing Osler’s Vision by supporting the people of Osler to Go Beyond.
This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in governance and organization-wide initiatives focused on people and culture and have exposure to senior hospital leadership, Board governance, providing valuable insight into health system administration and operations for students interested in careers in health care leadership in management.
Accountabilities:
- Collaborate with colleagues across the People and Governance portfolio, leadership team and other departments to support key initiatives and projects related to governance, people and culture
- Support key governance initiatives, including refreshing the governance handbook, enhancing Board/committee templates and coordinating Board education and orientation activities
- Conduct research on leading governance practices, analysis and synthesize findings into clear, actionable recommendations
- Assist with administrative activities (i.e. scheduling Board and committee meetings and events) and support work plan development for the Board and its committees
Qualifications
- Must be currently enrolled in an MBA or master’s program
- Must be returning to studies in Fall 2026
- Full-time, part-time and mature students are eligible to apply
- Ability to maintain and assist in reviewing and organizing highly confidential information
- Superior analytical, organizational, decision-making and problem-solving skills to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills are required
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity and take initiative
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to build relationships and engage stakeholders at all levels
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing presentations, reports and briefing materials
- Sound organizational skills with demonstrated ability to problem-solve and to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced work environment
- High level of professionalism, discretion and judgement in handling confidential information
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams) applications; familiarity with tools like SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat Pro and survey tools is an asset
- Excellent attendance, punctuality and work record
- Availability from June to end of August 2026
- Able to work onsite at least three days per week across Osler sites
