Job Description
David Weekley Homes, an industry leader in homebuilding, design, and Customer Service, is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Design City Coordinator to join our Phoenix team. This role leads the development and coordination of residential home plans and construction drawings across the division, ensuring they align with municipal requirements, community standards, and developer guidelines. The Design City Coordinator plays an integral role throughout the residential development process, supporting projects from initial design documentation through construction.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct weekly Team huddles, coordinate workloads, and hold Team Members accountable for results.
- Serve as a key point of contact for Division and project teams, providing updates during weekly market meetings.
- Participate in Preliminary and Final Market Product Development Meetings and lead market-specific First-Time Build and Model walks.
- Ensure architectural plans comply with applicable municipal codes, permitting requirements, developer guidelines, and lot-specific requirements.
- Serve as the quality-control checkpoint for new plans, elevations, and plan revisions.
- Collaborate with Draftspersons to develop address-specific plans for single-family and multi-family projects across the division.
- Partner with the Design Production Manager to manage workflow, priorities, and established product deadlines.
- Facilitate problem-solving and collaboration among Team Members.
- Meet established monthly and quarterly department performance goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, or a related field preferred; or an applied technical degree in architectural design.
- Four or more years of experience working with construction documents and plans.
- Residential design experience and strong knowledge of residential construction drawings required.
- Two or more years of management experience in a related field preferred, but not required.
- Experience with AutoCAD and Revit preferred, but not required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication and Customer Service skills, with the tact and professionalism to work effectively with internal and external Customers.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to prioritize responsibilities and manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment.
- A collaborative, detail-oriented approach with strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, and a sense of urgency.
