Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a software developer, you will be working together with other developers and cross-functional teams to understand system requirements and deliver solutions to HDD manufacturing software applications
- Assist in the development, testing, and maintenance of HDD manufacturing software applications using C#
- Write and optimize SQL queries to manage and manipulate data in MS SQL databases
- Collaborate with senior developers and cross-functional teams to understand system requirements and deliver solutions
- Troubleshoot and resolve software issues in a timely manner
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of coding standards
- Document software functionality and technical processes
- Deploy software deployment and evaluate users’ feedback
- Comply with project plans and industry standards
- Work in team with minimum supervision on tight project deadlines.
- Propose and contribute new ideas, modern approaches, and innovative solutions to improve MVX system capabilities and development processes
- Research and recommend emerging technologies or tools that can enhance manufacturing software performance
This position is part of our Early Career program at WD. Our Early Career program is designed to support individuals beginning their professional career by providing the foundational training through a structured onboarding, mentorship, and development curriculum.
Qualifications
REQUIRED:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
- 0–2 years of work experience and welcome new grads.
- Basic knowledge of C#.NET, vb.NET and LINQ
- Familiarity with MS SQL and ability to write basic SQL queries
- Understanding of software development lifecycle and methodologies
- Understanding of development to support abstract factory patterns with Object Oriented approach
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Growth mindset with eagerness to learn, challenge existing processes, and bring fresh perspectives to software development
PREFFERED:
- Experience as an Intern - Software Developer or experience in manufacturing-related environment would be an added advantage
- Knowledge of other programming languages or frameworks
- Familiarity with version control systems like GitHub
- Exposure to modern development practices such as Agile, DevOps, or CI/CD pipelines
- Interest or academic project experience in data analytics, automation, or AI/ML concepts applicable to manufacturing
SKILLS:
- Demonstrate a good level of English proficiency (written / verbal)
- Strong listening, communication, interpersonal and relational skills to develop a good relationship within the organization
- Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task and work collaboratively in a team environment
- Creative thinker who can bridge academic knowledge with real-world manufacturing system challenges
- Ability to independently explore and propose technology improvements with minimal guidance
