In this position, the individual will be responsible for following: 

  • Architect, Design, implement, debug firmware for the next generation of Enterprise SSDs 
  • Design and implement firmware algorithms needed to achieve best in class performance goals 
  • Design and develop HW Interface drivers (DDR, I2C, GPIO, etc), algorithm design and implementation 
  • Contribute to the SSD firmware and play a significant role in delivering next generation Enterprise SSDs to market 
  • Work with the firmware Architects, ASIC and flash media teams on a daily basis 
  • Typically program in high level languages (C) 
  • Report the status of the project execution on a regular basis to senior management 
  • Develop characterization and evaluation programs for new products 
  • Support failure analysis on test systems  

Qualifications

 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and team player 
  • Proven ability to work as part of a global team in multiple geographies 
  • Bachelor of Technology, Master of Technology or Engineering equivalent in Computer Science or Software / Computer / Electrical Engineering 
  • 5 to 10 years hands on experience of SSD Firmware development including Storage Protocols like NVMe, etc. 
  • Expertise on Security protocols (TCG, Opal, etc) is an advantage 
  • Experience with scripting automation using Python is an added advantage 
  • Experience with debug and performance optimisation of complex embedded systems 
  • Multi-disciplinary experience, including familiarity with Firmware and ASIC design 
  • Must have strong problem solving skills; experience using logic and protocol analyzers is preferred 
  • Previous patent filing – advantage 
  • Previous scientific publications – advantage 
  • Previous experience with storage systems, protocols, and NAND flash – strong advantage 
  • Ability to work effectively cross-functionally 
  • Ability to troubleshoot and analyze complex problems.  
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines. 
  • Experience of having delivered " End to End Storage Stack" on Leading Edge/NEW hardware will be preferable.
