Job Description

The Department Supervisor will be responsible for the direction, recruitment, and retention of qualified and experienced department staff.   

This position will work in a supervisory role in the following areas;
• Coordinates department activities according to strategic planning, staffing requirements, and program needs.
• Trains and monitors customer service integration.
• Trains new on-boarding staff.
• Coordinate the screening of urgent/emergency case patients.
• Assist with multiple operational reports.
• Coordination of department staff training; to include the development of materials and facilitation of training.
• Establishes work schedules and methods for assigned staff, as well as evaluating staff productivity and conduct, under supervisor's direction.
• Research, compile, or analyze data for a variety of projects.
• Performs a wide variety of complex office, program, and administrative support assignments.
• Carries out other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

• Requires at a minimum, high school graduate or equivalent with 2 years of college preferred.
• Minimum of two years leadership experience in an administrative office setting, health care field
preferred.

• Knowledge of DSHS and HHSC programs.
• Mental and physical health sufficient to meet the demands of the position.
• Must be able to adhere to all client related policies and procedures
including confidentiality.
• Requires a valid Texas Driver's License, appropriate driving record and auto liability
insurance that meets the minimum required by State of Texas statute.

• Excellent telephone etiquette.
• EMR Experience preferred
• Able to schedule work activities according to priority.
• Ability to coordinate team activities as necessary.
• Must be able to respond to diverse situations as they occur.
• Must be able to maintain a pleasant and professional attitude toward patients and personnel, as well as provide ongoing customer service training.
• Energetic, forward-thinking and creative individual with high ethical standards and an appropriate professional image.
• The ability to work independently and effectively under pressure.
• Superior organizational and problem solving skills
