Job Description

The Materials Clerk will provide some clerical and light duty support to the purchasing process and assigned department staff with specific responsibility for processing purchasing documents and materials and responding to related inquiries; and maintaining vendor/source information and inventories. 

• Assisting in maintaining purchasing documents, files and records for the purpose of ensuring the availability of documentation and compliance with established policies and regulatory guidelines.
• Assist in performing general and program specific clerical functions (e.g. answering the telephones, distributing purchase orders, scheduling, copying, faxing, etc.) for the purpose of supporting departmental activities.
• Assist in reviewing documents and data(e.g. incoming requisitions, past purchase, reconciliations, inventories, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring completeness and accuracy of purchasing process.
• Assist in the delivery of pharmaceutical, medical and office supplies to appropriate departments.
• Maintains records in accordance with established policies and procedures and audit guidelines.
• Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
• Carries out other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Three years experience in an purchasing environment or related field required (medical setting preferred).
• Requires a valid Texas Driver's License, appropriate driving record and auto liability
insurance that meets the minimum required by State of Texas statute. 
• Knowledge of purchasing and contracting policies, laws and regulations
• Energetic, forward-thinking and creative individual with high ethical standards and an appropriate professional image.
•The ability to work independently and effectively under pressure.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite.
• Demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills also required.
• Superior organizational and problem solving skills
• Ability to lift a minimum of 30 lbs.
• Ability to stand for periods of time.
• Physical health sufficient to meet the demands of the position.
