Job Description

Position Summary

The Clinical Assistant assists the Care Coordinator with non-clinical duties such as handling phone inquiries, assisting with scheduling, obtaining pre-authorizations and completing durable medical equipment (DME) paperwork for providers to sign.

Essential Functions

• Answering phone, retrieving and returning voicemails.
• Assisting care coordinator/MA's with incoming prescription faxes, processing, documenting and faxing back to the pharmacy.
• Assisting with obtaining prior authorization for medications, radiology and DME.
• Translate as needed.
• Assist staff with scheduling nurse visits for needed vaccines and or depression screenings, FOBT's, etc.
• Review forms signed in departments for missing information and have addressed accordingly by Care Coordinator.
• Assist in all log tracking duties as time allows.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Typically requires six (6) months to one (1) year experience.
• Mental and physical health sufficient to meet the demands of the position.
• Requires a valid Texas Driver's License, appropriate driving record and auto
liability insurance that meets the minimum required by State of Texas statute.
• High school diploma or GED.
