Job Description

Our agency client is seeking an experienced Associate Media Director to lead paid social strategy and execution for a major client account. This role requires a strategic leader who can balance hands-on campaign management with team oversight, client relationship building, and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate brings 6-10+ years of paid social expertise with proven leadership experience.

Contract Details:

  • 35-40 hours/week
  • 3-6 month engagement, temp-to-perm contract possibility 
  • Mid-to-late February start
  • Looking for candidates based in Boston or NYC but the role will be remote. EST is ideal 
  • $65-75/hr
     

Strategic Leadership 

  • Develop and lead comprehensive paid social strategies across Meta, TikTok, Snapchat, LinkedIn, and Pinterest aligned with client business objectives
  • Own full-funnel campaign strategy from awareness through conversion, optimizing performance at each stage
  • Provide strategic direction on campaign design, audience targeting, creative testing, and platform utilization
  • Identify and implement platform betas, new features, and innovative tactics to drive competitive advantage
  • Partner with planning, analytics, and creative teams to ensure integrated media approach

Campaign Execution & Optimization

  • Lead hands-on campaign setup, trafficking, QA, and launch across all major paid social platforms
  • Manage multi-million dollar social media budgets with disciplined pacing and performance monitoring
  • Develop and execute rigorous testing frameworks for creative, audience, bidding, and platform optimization
  • Implement conversion tracking, pixel deployment, and advanced analytics for performance measurement
  • Drive continuous optimization through data analysis, A/B testing, and performance insights

Team Leadership & Development 

  • Manage and mentor a team of 2-4 paid social specialists and coordinators
  • Provide guidance, training, and professional development to build team capabilities
  • Establish team workflows, QA processes, and best practices for campaign excellence
  • Foster collaborative team environment aligned with Hill Holliday's integrated, no-ego culture

Client Management & Communication 

  • Serve as primary paid social point of contact for client stakeholders
  • Present campaign strategies, performance updates, and optimization recommendations to clients
  • Translate complex social media concepts and data into clear, actionable business insights
  • Build strong client relationships through proactive communication and strategic consultation
  • Manage client expectations and navigate performance challenges with transparency and solutions

Platform & Vendor Relations

  • Cultivate relationships with Meta, TikTok, Snapchat, LinkedIn, and Pinterest platform representatives
  • Secure beta access, preferred inventory, and value-added opportunities for clients
  • Stay current on platform updates, algorithm changes, and emerging social media capabilities

Qualifications

Required

  • 6-10+ years of hands-on paid social media experience in agency or brand environments
  • Expert proficiency in Meta Business Manager, TikTok Ads Manager, Snapchat Ads, LinkedIn Campaign Manager
  • Proven track record managing multi-million dollar paid social budgets
  • Demonstrated success leading teams (2-4+ direct reports) with mentorship and development
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to translate data into strategic insights and recommendations
  • Experience with conversion tracking, pixel implementation, and attribution modeling
  • Excellent client-facing communication and presentation skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or related field
  • Must be available to work EST hours (8am-5pm EST)

Preferred 

  • Experience working with higher education, B2B, or complex consideration funnel client
  • Platform certifications (Meta Blueprint, TikTok Marketing, LinkedIn Marketing Labs, etc.)
  • Experience with creative optimization tools (e.g., Pencil AI, Smartly.io)
  • Familiarity with audience segmentation, first-party data activation, and lookalike modeling
  • Knowledge of broader digital media ecosystem (programmatic, search, CTV)
  • Based in EST timezone (NYC, Boston, or surrounding areas preferred)
