Job Description
About the Role
Our client is in the midst of a strategic brand and website transformation. They’ve just launched a new WordPress site with a refreshed visual identity and core page set. With Phase 1 complete, they’re now seeking a nimble, versatile partner to help bring additional content into the new site—starting with high-priority page migrations and evolving into longer-term website support.
This is a great opportunity to help shape how a new brand shows up online, both by translating legacy content into a new design system and helping extend the site’s functionality over time.
About the Opportunity
Role: WordPress Web Designer/Developer (Contract)
Duration: 3–4 months to start (with potential to extend into ongoing support)
Location: Remote (US-based)
Hours/week: 30+ hours/week (flexible based on project flow)
Hourly Rate: $65–$85/hr
Key Responsibilities
Phase 1: Page Migration & Site Expansion
Rebuild 30–50 pages from the client’s legacy website into the new WordPress site, using existing content but aligning with updated brand guidelines (color palette, visual language, etc.)
Lightly adapt and design pages as needed to reflect new brand style while preserving original content intent
Create page templates or reusable components where possible to improve efficiency and maintain cohesion
Phase 2: Site Integration & Support
Connect internal links, set up page redirects, and troubleshoot common WordPress functionality issues as new pages go live
Ensure SEO and performance best practices are maintained during migration
Ongoing Support & Collaboration
Serve as a long-term partner to support future web needs, including net-new page builds, layout adjustments, and collaboration with content and creative team members
Work alongside Rosie team leads (Creative Director, Content Strategist) to evolve new pages based on broader messaging and audience priorities
Qualifications
Who You Are
5+ years of experience in WordPress design and development
Strong grasp of WordPress builders (Gutenberg preferred; Elementor, WPBakery, etc. also helpful)
Experience building pages using pre-existing content and aligning with updated visual systems
Light UX/design skills to adapt existing templates or build out simple, cohesive page layouts
Familiarity with page linking, redirect setup, SEO basics, and light QA
HTML/CSS/JavaScript proficiency a plus, but not required for this role
Comfortable working within a partial system (new site + old content) and making thoughtful decisions to bridge the two
Detail-oriented and dependable when it comes to QA and functional fixes
Flexible and collaborative; open to evolving scope and longer-term partnership
