A partswasher is a specialised cleaning system used to remove oil, grease, and contaminants from mechanical components and equipment. WM provides customers with a complete managed solution, including equipment servicing, waste collection, and solvent recovery, helping businesses operate safely while meeting environmental compliance requirements.

Job Description

What you'll be doing

As our Class 4 Driver - Partswasher, you'll provide a vital service to customers by servicing partswashing equipment, collecting waste materials, and ensuring sites remain safe, compliant, and operational.

This is much more than a driving role. You'll be out on the road managing your own run, building great customer relationships, and delivering a high standard of service every day.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Operating specialised service vehicles and equipment
  • Servicing and maintaining partswashing units at customer sites
  • Collecting and transporting liquid and hazardous waste in accordance with regulatory requirements
  • Completing waste tracking, compliance documentation, and service records
  • Conducting daily vehicle, equipment, and safety checks
  • Ensuring all work is carried out in line with health, safety, and environmental procedures
  • Building positive relationships with customers and representing WM professionally
  • Working collaboratively with a high-performing, safety-focused team

Qualifications

What we're looking for

We're after someone who's reliable, safety-focused, and doesn't mind getting their hands dirty. If you've got the right attitude and a willingness to learn, we'd love to hear from you.

  • Full NZ Class 4 licence with a good driving record
  • D endorsement, or keen to get one
  • Experience in transport, waste, industrial services, or a similar hands-on role
  • Physically fit and comfortable working both indoors and outdoors
  • A strong focus on health and safety
  • Able to work independently and manage your day effectively
  • Good people skills and a customer-first attitude
  • Reliable, practical, and happy to pitch in where needed

Bonus points if you have:

  • Experience operating vacuum trucks, pumps, or similar equipment
  • Confidence driving manual or Road Ranger gearboxes
  • Experience working with hazardous or liquid waste
  • Knowledge of the waste, recycling, or environmental services industry
