What do we need to know about you?

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business management, Operations, Engineering, or a related technical field from an accredited university or college.
  • Experience: A minimum of 7+ years in manufacturing, operations, or materials management with a strong understanding of production and inventory control systems.
  • Skills: Proven project management abilities, with a knack for working across functional boundaries and engaging with all levels of management.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated experience in leading teams, managing scheduling and inventory, and fostering a collaborative environment.

  • Comprehensive understanding of manufacturing processes and techniques.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify issues and craft innovative solutions.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of production/materials control systems and experience with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Proficiency in Oracle and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

What Will Your Typical Day Look Like?

  • Support & Collaboration: Provide critical support to Production, Project and Sales teams, ensuring supplier deliveries meet material requirements and production schedules.
  • Forecasting & Planning: Collaborate with teams to convert material forecasts into actionable production and material plans, supporting lean manufacturing principles.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee component and finished goods inventories, establishing MoQ & safety stock, managing lead times, and adapting to fluctuating market demands.
  • Logistics: Coordinate inbound & outbound shipments aligned with customer and project requirements.
  • Cost Control: Manage product costs through strategic supply chain management.
  • Customer Focus: Meet customer schedules with advanced planning and create agile strategies to expedite shipments as needed.
  • Process Ownership: Own and optimize material management processes, driving excellence in fulfillment, inventory turns, and operational efficiency.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Work closely with Engineering, Quality, Sourcing, Finance, and Manufacturing teams to resolve material issues and drive continuous improvement.
  • Mentorship: Lead and mentor a team of salaried and hourly employees, fostering a culture of excellence in Inventory Control, Material Planning, Asset Management, and more.
  • Innovation & Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement progressive management systems based on Lean and Six Sigma principles.
  • Leadership Beyond Boundaries: Take ownership of plant-wide materials process improvements, present your team's achievements to senior leadership, and flex beyond your traditional responsibilities to enhance overall shop operations.

What Are the Physical Demands?

  • Hands-On Environment: Expect to be actively engaged on the shop floor, requiring the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Physical Activity: Be prepared for walking, climbing, stooping, bending, and lifting as you immerse yourself in understanding and improving our processes.

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The salary rate for this role is currently $91100-129800 The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. More information on offered benefits, which include health, welfare, and retirement, are available at mywabtecbenefits.com. Other benefit offerings for this role may include annual bonus, if eligible.
