Who will you be working with?

The Wabtec IT Applications team focuses on delivering long-term, sustainable value through strong business partnerships, innovative solutions, disciplined execution, and reliable operation of application platforms and products.

The Global PLM IT team works closely with cross-functional internal stakeholders to deliver world-class solutions that enable optimized product lifecycle management, streamlined workflows, enhanced collaboration, accelerated innovation, and achievement of strategic business objectives.

How will you make a difference?

As a Senior Software Architect, you will partner closely with IT teams and cross-functional business stakeholders to ensure that technology solutions are aligned with business goals while balancing quality, cost, scalability, and delivery timelines.

You will lead architecture and continuous improvement initiatives across the organization, ensuring effective planning, execution, governance, and delivery of PLM and software solutions. In this role, you will drive innovation, support strategic decision-making, and contribute to strengthening the overall enterprise architecture landscape.

What do we want to know about you?

  • Strong experience in Teamcenter PLM customization, configuration, development, and solution mapping.
  • Proven experience as a PLM Solution Architect or Senior Technical Architect in a complex enterprise environment.
  • Deep expertise in Teamcenter architecture, data model, and security, including business objects, workflows, Access Manager, organization structure, performance, scalability, FMS, licensing, and deployment best practices.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Teamcenter customization and development, including BMIDE, Java SOA APIs, ITK, custom extensions, utilities, integrations, data model enhancements, and deployment activities.
  • Proven knowledge of Teamcenter engineering and business capabilities, including Teamcenter–NX integration, Systems Engineering processes, reporting, data extraction, and related engineering workflows.
  • Ability to contribute to enterprise strategy development, including environmental analysis, opportunity identification, value case definition, and innovation portfolio planning.
  • Ability to define and align domain-level architectural requirements with enterprise architecture standards.
  • Experience leading or facilitating architecture governance processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to influence stakeholders at multiple levels.
  • High level of personal integrity, accountability, and professional judgment.
  • Strong leadership mindset with ability to guide and collaborate across cross-functional teams.
  • Fluent English.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally (up to 15%, including international travel).

What will your typical day look like?

  • Lead and coordinate technical and business discussions related to future architecture direction across multiple teams or complex product lines.
  • Analyze current-state and target-state environments and define cohesive architecture roadmaps and implementation plans.
  • Review, analyze, and develop domain-level architecture solutions in collaboration with multiple teams.
  • Participate in enterprise architecture governance and domain-level architecture review processes.
  • Design and develop service-oriented software and data platforms with reusable components.
  • Research and evaluate emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices to support delivery and operational excellence.
  • Provide technical leadership, architecture guidance, and mentoring across the domain.
