OVERVIEW: Client has an immediate need for a COBOL Developer to help support the addition of a new Product to existing platform(s) / application(s). The position is on a contract through the end of the year, with high probability to extend well into 2018. Compensation varies depending on experience and background. The successful candidate must possess COBOL experience working on MS SQL Server.

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Competent in most phases of systems analysis/programming to work on own and only requires general direction for the balance of the activities.
• Confers with organizational personnel, as necessary, to determine information necessary for any revisions, corrections and new applications
• Analyzes problems in terms of systems and programming requirements and devises efficient solutions.
• Assists with interfaces between current equipment/systems.
• Consults on the implementation of systems/programming applications.
• Codes, tests and documents programs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• BS in Computer Science or related field is preferred
• 5+ years of COBOL programmer experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Team player with the ability to work independently
• Experience with Microsoft Suite & Adobe Acrobat
• Demonstrates initiative, attention to detail, problem solving abilities, organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task
