Job Description

Reporting to the Head of Commercial & Performance, the Workforce Optimisation Manager is responsible for leading workforce planning, labour optimisation and workforce performance across the Viva Energy Retail network. Supporting all retail brands, this role will drive labour planning standards, workforce analytics, rostering optimisation and productivity initiatives that improve operational efficiency while enabling outstanding store performance. The role will work closely with Operations, Commercial & Performance, Finance and People & Culture teams and has responsibility for two direct reports.

You will provide:

  • Ownership of workforce planning standards and labour management frameworks across OTR, Reddy Express, SMGB and QSR brands.
  • Development and maintenance of labour planning standards aligned to customer demand and operational requirements.
  • Leadership of rostering standards, scheduling principles and workforce optimisation practices across the retail network.
  • Workforce analytics, labour productivity reporting and workforce performance insights to support business decision making.
  • Development of dashboards, scorecards and reporting that provide visibility of labour investment and workforce effectiveness.
  • Analysis of workforce trends, productivity metrics and labour performance data to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Delivery of workforce optimisation initiatives that improve labour utilisation, productivity and operational efficiency.
  • Partnership with State Managers, Area Managers and Store Managers to improve workforce planning and roster effectiveness.
  • Collaboration with Commercial & Performance, Finance, People & Culture and operational stakeholders to align workforce strategies with business goals.
  • Subject matter expertise and governance support relating to workforce planning, labour productivity and workforce performance.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in workforce planning, workforce management, labour optimisation, workforce analytics, retail operations or commercial performance roles.
  • Strong understanding of labour planning, workforce scheduling, rostering and workforce productivity principles.
  • Advanced analytical capability with experience interpreting workforce, financial and operational performance data.
  • Proven experience identifying and implementing productivity, efficiency or workforce optimisation initiatives.
  • Advanced proficiency using workforce management systems, Excel and reporting tools.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence leaders across a large, multi-site environment.
  • Experience within retail, convenience, franchise or customer-facing operational businesses will be highly regarded.
  • Experience working with workforce management, scheduling or time and attendance platforms is desirable.
