Job Description

The Innovation and Global Digital Partnerships organization defines the next phase of Innovation for Visa through our global network of Innovation Centers and leads the development and commercialization of Visa products and solutions for Big Tech, Fintech and Platform partnerships. Visa’s product Innovation team drives growth and evolution of customer-centered, market-leading products and services, from the ground up. Bringing together product managers, category experts, design practitioners, strategists, and technologists, we tackle key portfolio challenges to unlock new growth opportunities and create purposeful new payment and commerce experiences to power global commerce ecosystems. 

 

We are in search of a product-focused, business-oriented researcher to become a part of our 0 to 1 innovation team. This role involves utilizing mixed research methods to inform the development and refinement of new products and services. The successful candidate will be tasked with conducting comprehensive research across various emerging sectors within North America. This position demands strong analytical abilities, expertise in qualitative research methodologies, and a solid understanding of product innovation principles. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with Visa's product innovation team to generate insights and guide strategic decisions for the development of new products. 

 

Essential Functions

  • Conduct comprehensive qualitative research across various sectors within North America. 

  • Utilize qualitative and quantitative research methods to inform the development and refinement of new products and services. 

  • Collaborate closely with Visa's product innovation team to generate insights and guide strategic decisions. 

  • Analyze and interpret research findings to provide actionable insights for product development. 

  • Present complex research findings to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner. 

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest qualitative research methodologies and industry trends. 

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Relocation assistance is not provided for this role.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications
9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD
Experience in a senior product research role or similar position.
Deep understanding of product research methodologies and data analysis techniques.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
Proficiency in using research tools and software.
Advanced degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
Experience with customer-centric design and user experience research.
Familiarity with the product development process.
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Proven track record of driving product improvements through research.

Additional Information

Work Authorization: Permanent Authorization to work in the U.S. is a precondition of employment for this position. Visa will not sponsor applicants for work visas in connection with this position.

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 147,700.00 to 214,150.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
