Job Description

Within Visa, Acceptance Solutions leads payment acceptance innovation with scaled, modern technology and enabling programs across all payment types, channels, and platforms. Our solutions span face to face interactions, transit experiences, mobile payments, ecommerce and Internet of Things. Whether it is paying for your groceries at the corner store in a face to face interaction, tapping on a countertop, tapping to board a train in Kobe or Porto, paying on your mobile or ordering a hand-crafted good from another country on your computer, we enable it. We are focused on digital first capabilities and using the power of software to unleash great consumer and merchant experiences. We go beyond enabling a transaction and seek to add incremental value to every transaction – whether by optimizing authorization rates, mitigating fraud and helping merchants operate in secure, tokenized environments.

The Acceptance Solutions team are looking for a passionate, authentic, and dynamic leader for Visa’s efforts to expand, implement and monitor the solutions we deliver to merchant acquirers. This is a global role.

Our Acquirer Solutions are built on a highly reliable, best-in-class platform that provides integrated commerce and payment management services to a wide range of merchants, acquirers, and technology partners. The acceptance platform enables merchants, acquirers, and partners to deliver acceptance products at scale, and provides the tools needed for acquirers to profitably run their merchant portfolios. Our architecture provides acquirers and technology partners access to our scalable platform and allow them to differentiate their services by combining Visa’s brandable services with their in-house capabilities.

As Director, Aggregator and SMB Solutions Management, you will be responsible for leading internal processes to design and deliver solutions to merchant acquirers. Our Acquirer Solutions represent a comprehensive set of payment, portfolio and platform management services, which Visa provides to our acquirer clients globally. This includes broad payment acceptance and value-added services like risk management, tokenization, and analytics – all of which combine to deliver on our vision for integrated commerce.

The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter that can work independently in a fast paced, ambiguous environment with limited supervision. They must be a fast learner, who can quickly absorb the nuances of Visa Merchant and Acquiring Products and Services.

  • Lead, align and empower an inclusive cross functional team of talented product staff to develop the solution set – with the needs of merchants, acquirers, and technology partners at the forefront of the design construct
  • Lead multiple complex deliverables with many partners, often with opposing priorities
  • Work across Visa’s operational, support and sales teams to establish and refine a strong go-to-market motion that enables and motivates acquirers’ sales forces
  • Advocate, develop and coordinate a robust product roadmap for the Acquirer Solutions on a global basis
  • Ensure the strategy and goals for our Acquirer Solutions are in alignment with Visa’s corporate and merchant strategy
  • Apply industry expertise with knowledge of Visa Inc.’s global market opportunities, consumers, merchants, issuers, enabling partners, and competition
  • Establish supporting use cases, solution definition statements, and product design/construction requirements
  • Act as the “voice of the client” to incorporate acquirers’ perspectives into our product, operational and support roadmaps
  • Work with Product Marketing to develop materials to educate and inform internal and external stakeholders
  • Establish key performance metrics and measurements for the predictable delivery of our Acquirer Solutions and ensure continuous improvement

Qualities of a Successful Candidate

  • High energy level, performance oriented and passionate about merchants, acquirers and technology in the digital commerce space
  • Ability to work constructively in a cross-functional, initiative-based structure – leading large teams where there is not a direct reporting line
  • Deep working knowledge of payment gateway, acquirer/acquirer processing, payment facilitation and/or fraud platforms
  • Demonstrated experience leading new, breakout products or initiatives (versus incremental feature/functionality)
  • Experience in working with indirect sales channels and the required go-to-market processes to enable these channels
  • Experience and comfort in engaging with internal and client executive teams
  • Ability to engage with technology organization in an effective and collaborative manner
  • Experience building out modular, API and web services-based platforms
  • Experience in agile development methodologies and incorporating client and market feedback into product roadmap
  • Some experience in driving product/platform consistency across regions.
  • Demonstrated project management with an ability to appropriately phase and prioritize key underlying capabilities and activities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and an ability to simplify and communicate complex technical issues to non-technical executives, sales teams, and other stakeholders.
