Job Description

Visa is searching for a Business Development Manager (Merchant Sales & Acceptance) in Greece & Cyprus. As a key member of the MS&A team, the selected candidate will bring sales skills, vision and creativity to expanding acceptance, growing usage, and creating profitable partnerships with merchants and payment ecosystem players in Greece & Cyprus.

This role will lead merchant engagements and digital payment proposition development, while bringing in innovative thinking and project execution capabilities as a core asset. The role also delivers high-profile, cross functional strategies and plans in Greece & Cyprus.  The candidate will be working in tandem with internal partners to identify and cultivate growth opportunities, drive acceptance, engage with key merchants and key acquirers in order to deliver sustainable revenue growth.

  • Partner with and act as key interface with merchants and payment partners in Greece & Cyprus to secure and grow the business for Visa
  • Lead sector development opportunities and manage implementation of acceptance services, identify and prioritise clients, merchants and third parties for acceptance expansion by segmenting opportunity and targeting the most attractive ones
  • Build direct relationships with targeted merchants defined for dedicated account coverage to establish “Visa Preference”
  • Establish fluency in all Visa merchant-facing solutions and communicate and articulate all aspects of Visa value proposition for our clients
  • Optimize merchant and payment partners investments – identify opportunities that will jointly benefit clients and Visa
  • Drive the sales of Visa core and digital products, develop appropriate business cases and forecasts, advocate for funding, identify and deploy Visa resources to address objectives, track our performance, and use learnings to inform future investment
  • Establish strong internal partnerships – partner with functions across Visa (e.g., sub-regional leadership, marketing, product development, etc.) to collaboratively define responsibilities for various client outcomes and troubleshoot client relationships within Visa internally.

Flex Work Arrangement - Hybrid Position - Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office two days a week, Tuesdays and Wednesdays with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

  • Results oriented sales professional with proven track record in selling to and managing clients/accounts, developing relationships and sales partnerships, with at least 5 years business experience
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills (both in Greek & English) with the ability to establish effective relationships and communicate with all levels of the organization including executive management
  • Good understanding of ecommerce, digital trends, and payments technologies
  • Proven stakeholder orchestration experience to continuously deliver multiple external and internal stakeholders initiatives
  • Proven ability to negotiate business agreements and to enhance existing and develop new business partnerships, with previous experience in contract management as a business owner
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work collaboratively across functions and geographies in a complex matrix environment,
  • Exceptional ability to manage & grow internal and external resources and cross functional relationships
  • Strong strategic and thought leadership skills
  • Ability to assess situations and solve problems through sound reasoning and structured thinking.
