Job Description
Full-Stack Staff Software Engineer II
Position Summary
We are looking for talented, curious, proactive, energetic, and passionate individuals who embraces challenges and is a proven problem solver. As a Visa Software Engineer, you will be an integral part of a cross-functional development team inventing, designing, building, and testing software assets. You will collaborate with product owners, architects, test engineers, dev-ops, operations, and other team members from the product ideation stage to production deployment and support of highly functional, secure, scalable, and robust software solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Full-stack development – contribute to the design of backend DBs and queries, API creation and consumption, and contribute to front end UI development
Works independently with minimal insight to develop software that conforms to Visa’s high standards of security, quality, performance, resiliency, and compliance.
Can take on the DEV lead for the scrum team
Takes ownership and is responsible for one or more applications in a solution
Provides technical oversight and guidance to team members working on those applications
Provide application architecture and design artifacts and conduct design reviews
Presents solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Plays the “Player-Coach” role for the team at the project level
Contributes technical innovations back to the Visa-wide reusable assets repositories
Identify risks and come up with mitigation plans to keep projects on time and within budget
Work with Technical Product Managers to break down large solutions into smaller tasks
Support test engineers and operation teams in troubleshooting, defect research, issue root cause analysis, and other related activities
Qualifications
Qualifications
B.S. in Computer Science or related degree and 10+ years of Software Development Experience
Expert in JAVA, and building and consuming REST APIs
Expert knowledge with Spring Technologies
Expert diagraming solutions (flow, block, logical)
Expert knowledge of Security and Authentication standards and technologies like OAuth
Comfortable in delivering presentations to large forums
Experience with JavaScript and front-end technologies/frameworks like JQuery, ReactJS, Angular
Experience architecting solutions that is secure, resilient, and scalable
Experience in building out a Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery pipeline
Experience being in an accountable position delivering solutions within the committed timeframe
Knowledgeable about Database technologies like Oracle and NoSQL solutions
Knowledgeable about network architecture, VIPS, and Firewalls
Additional Information
Work Hours This position requires the incumbent to be available during core business hours.
Travel Requirements This position requires the incumbent to travel for work 5% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, and reach with hands and arms.
