Job Description

The Security Products team at Visa focuses on delivering the fraud detection and prevention solutions that enable every good transaction to be approved, every bad transaction to be declined, all with a seamless customer experience. Central to this strategy is the use of AI/ML models that are trained to detect fraud in the card payment ecosystem. Visa has pioneered these capabilities for over 25 years, and is continuing to evolve its capabilities to address the rapidly changing needs from today’s digital payment ecosystem.   

Payment authentication, digital identity and their combination with payment authorization information is a critical component of this vision. We are looking for an experienced product manager who wants to work at this exciting confluence of Identity, Authentication, Risk, and Payments.   

This role will focus on taking our flagship fraud risk model products to the next level by innovating on the ingestion of new data and bringing advanced ML technique to life.  She/he will play a cross-enterprise leadership role to enable our products through Visa’s core infrastructure modernization journey. She/he will also gain hands-on experience building, launching and improving products.

 

Essential Functions

This Product Director will be responsible for evolving, building and commercializing a suite of payment authorization models that help our clients reduce fraud and improve customer experience for our cardholders. She/he will also play a critical role realizing Visa’s strategy to unleash the power of industry-leading applications of ML and new data through leading projects cross-functionally.

  • Successful candidate will be responsible for working with cross-enterprise partner teams to define product vision, shape and get buy-in for decision frameworks, craft tech requirements, working with predictive modeling team to iterate on model build, and tech teams to deploy the models in production to our clients.
  • Lead in the white space area of early stages of the Visa product development lifecycle via sound market, statistical, and data analyses. This includes market research, lean canvas, business model, market sizing, and funding requirements.
  • Lead the evolution of revenue & pricing model for fraud risk models and grow new revenue opportunities
  • Transform collaboration model and establish strong communications with platform partners, development teams, predictive analytic teams, issuers, acquirers, merchants and other partners for high-stake, complex cross-enterprise mandates
  • Capture, develop, and deliver ideas/processes that improve Visa’s patent portfolio

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 10 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in product development/management

  • Proven experience and deep understanding of product development methodologies
  • Strong knowledge of payment fraud, and machine learning
  • Experience in consumer payments, risk, and enterprise/cyber security software
  • Demonstrated track record of developing product strategies based on business objectives and coordinating the funding, development, launch, and scaling cycle
  • Flexible and creative thinker with the ability to define business tradeoffs, generate out-of-the-box solutions and manage uncertainty
  • Analytical, organized, accurate, and detail-oriented with fact-based consultative discipline
  • Team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and results driven, with proven success over a wide variety of business problems
  • Excellent communication skills, strong executive presence and the ability to lead and inspire teams
  • A stellar track record in people management and culture building
  • Passionate about what you do and fired up about the opportunity to transform payments working for the industry leader

Additional Information

WORK HOURS

Incumbent must make themselves available onsite during core business hours 
May be needed to take phone calls with teams in various time zones as needed

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Travel as needed by the business up to 20%. Travel will be required occasionally depending on projects

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, reach with hands and arms, and bend or lift up to 25 pounds.
