Job Description

The Program Director, Visa Global Processor Partnerships, is responsible for executing business development strategies to grow our business and drive innovation adoption with processor partners located in all Visa geographic regions.  These clients include third party processors (TPP’s) across Issuer, Acquirer, core solutions and technology providers.  This person will liaise with the Global Processing leads in each region and provide operational support, strategic analysis, sales analysis and technical expertise.  The result of these efforts will be increasing strategic value to the client, identifying new uses cases, and delivering Visa innovation across the ecosystem including processing, program management, BIN sponsorship and core solutions.

The Program Director will also directly develop a select portfolio of issuer processors and processing resellers in the U.S.

The role requires a deep understanding of the payments ecosystem, its players, and payment technologies.  The Program Director is required to say abreast of global payment trends and technologies that may affect client strategies.

This position is full-time and located in Atlanta.  Telecommuting may be considered.  Incumbent must make themselves available during core business hours.  This position requires the incumbent to travel for work up to 40% of the time.  This position will be performed in an office setting and will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, and reach with hands and arms.

 

As the Program Director for Global Processor Partnerships, you will:

  • Support the development and execution of all related sales activities with the regional Heads of Processor Partnerships and account executive teams for each of Visa’s global regions.

  • Work with product and digital teams to identify and prioritize the implementation of Visa solutions (tokenization, push payments, installments, digital issuance, risk and dispute solutions) for TPP integration and distribution.

  • Identify and eliminate friction points that limit our ability to innovate and drive brand outcomes

  • Assist in the development and manage the reporting of Global Processing Partnership sales plans, including relevant metrics.  Review KPI’s regularly with regional Heads to identify variances and work with the Global Processor Partnership team to address them.

  • In the US, be directly responsible for certain issuer processor relationships and business development activities:

    • Deliver on specific and aggressive client account plans focused on Visa processing products and services, including traditional products, emerging digital solutions, white-labeled services, and/or open platform extensions to processors

    • Identify strategic opportunities through a strong understanding of clients’ businesses, including payment processing strategies aligned with Visa’s overall strategy

    • Build and deepen relationships/partnerships with processor executives

    • Prepare proposals, RFP’s, and negotiate contractual relationships with various internal and external stakeholders

·  Participate on relevant cross-functional teams (internal / external) that include representation from Product, Technology, Corporate Strategy, Digital Innovation, Operations, Marketing, Risk and Market Research groups.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

·         10 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 5 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of issuer processing, trends, and dynamics including ability to technically assess and engage with processors, fintech clients, neo-banks, and all related technology players

  • Strong knowledge of the global TPP landscape and the comparative position of regional ecosystem enablers

  • 12-15 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD

  • 10 years business development experience with related processing sales and relationship management experience in the payments industry; issuer/acquirer processing experience/functional processing understanding is critical.
  • Demonstrated track record of providing guidance and influence across multiple levels within a client organization, including senior executive management
  • Background in planning, managing and closing complex sales efforts
  • Ability to implement strategic initiatives, including market sales plans, policies, and operational decisions
  • Proven technical/operational project management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to establish effective relationships with all levels, including senior management
  • Excellent strategic thinking and analysis skills and a proven track record of creating solutions that increase revenue
  • Ability to manage & grow internal and external resources and cross-functional relationships
  • Proven ability negotiating business agreements and ability to enhance existing and develop new business partnerships
