Job Description

The Security Products team at Visa focuses on delivering the fraud detection and prevention solutions that enable every good transaction to be approved, every bad transaction to be declined, all with a seamless customer experience.   We are looking for product leaders that are passionate about innovation and developing solutions that help identify and mitigate financial fraud as well as maximize approvals of legitimate transactions. 

The role will focus on evaluating early-stage market opportunities for security and risk products and solutions.  Reporting to the VP, Visa Risk Manager, this individual will work with experts throughout the company and industry to identify, prioritize, and develop new fraud detection and authentication products.  Responsibilities include isolating opportunities and building the strategic vision, business case, market sizing, and funding requirements.   

Internal partnership is key to this role, so organizational savvy and interpersonal skills are critical.  This global role will interface across all regions and multiple markets and engage with risk, specialized product groups, sales, client support, client consulting, operations, technology, legal, corporate strategy, and finance to coordinate the development of new products. Visa is looking for an individual that pays attention to detail, with a proven track record of success in fast-paced environments with demanding timelines, an ability to correlate data and trends to business drivers, but who can also think big and contribute to strategic planning. 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 6 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/MBA/JD/MD) or a history of delivering results that blow us away 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in product development/management 

  • Proven experience and understanding of product development methodologies 

  • Experience in consumer payments, risk, and enterprise/cyber security software 

  • Demonstrated track record of developing product strategies based on business objectives and coordinating the funding and launch 

  • Flexible and creative thinker with the ability to define business tradeoffs, generate out-of-the-box solutions and manage uncertainty 

  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills to influence and instill confidence with stakeholders at all levels and in all functions/geographies 

  • Analytical, organized, accurate, and detail-oriented with fact-based consultative discipline 

  • Team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and results driven, with proven success over a wide variety of functional business problems 

  • Excellent communication skills, strong executive presence and the ability to lead and inspire teams

Additional Information

Essential Functions

  • Successful candidate will be responsible for working with our risk team to isolate product opportunities and drive those concepts back into new product features or full product development.  This may include products of peer teams, so the ability to influence other product leaders is critical to the role’s success. 

  • Develop input to early stages of the Visa product development lifecycle via sound market, statistical, and data analyses.  This includes lean canvas, business model, market sizing, and funding requirements. 

  • Regularly review client landscape and recommend, develop and implement new and creative approaches to expanding product capabilities 

  • Contribute to the product development process from ideation through market adoption 

  • Identify, create, and support new revenue sources through the development of new fraud risk products and solutions 

  • Establish and maintain strong communications with our risk, development teams, predictive analytic teams, issuers, acquirers, merchants and other partners 

  • Capture, develop, and deliver ideas/processes that improve Visa’s patent portfolio 

  • Work independently, usually within a complex and often ambiguous environment, to drive rigorous, fact-based recommendations to senior management, other executive, functional, or regional management while supporting syndication with stakeholders across the organization 

  • Facilitate the sharing of important and relevant business and client information that results in improved decision making and execution. 

Location

  • Hiring location is Arlington, VA but other Visa campus locations may be considered. 

Work Hours

  • Candidate must make themselves available to support clients across global timezones.

Travel Requirements: 

  • This position requires the incumbent to travel for work no more than 10% of the time

Physical Requirements

  • This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, and reach with hands and arms.
