Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, building and maintaining scalable data pipelines and data platform architecture. The role involves working with analysts, technical teams and stakeholders to ensure data is accessible, reliable and optimised for analytics and reporting.

- Code new Business Intelligence (BI) and Analytics developments and/or enhancements in line with technical design and standards.
- Provide technical support and data expertise to business users of BI and Analytics systems.
- Write SQL queries and scripts to manage data and Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) jobs.
- Assist in migration of on-prem BI and analytics workloads to GCP BigQuery platform.
- Use AI-assisted development as required.
- Create and update functional design, specifications and/or user stories.
- Adhere to code quality, data, and unit testing standards.
- Develop familiarity with processes in the overall domain of the team's area of work.
- Where technical challenges or blocks are identified within the team, ensure that team leads are made aware in a timely manner to support the management and triaging of delays or risks to the project.
- Work with project stakeholders as required.
- Feed into Revenue's project management activities as required in terms of tracking, risk management etc.
- Ensure that any assigned tasks in development and planning tools related to:
- Project development tasks are updated i.e.
- Updates to Jira requirements, work time logs, etc. for tracking purposes.
- Collaborate with testers, ensuring that information is shared and testers are kept up to date on expected functionality and timelines.
- Perform root cause analysis of issues and organise live incident tickets or bug tracking.
- Provide/propose fixes, as required, to resolve live issues.
Qualifications
Key Requirements/Skills required for this role:
Experience working with data using relational databases such as SQL and Ingres, and NoSQL frameworks such as Hadoop.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Analytical and problem‐solving skills.
Experience working in standards driven environments.
Excellent interpersonal skills
Experience working as part of a team on engagements with technologies and architectures similar to Revenue’s as outlined in Appendix 9 of RFT2024.
Experience interfacing with application development and technical colleagues and testers and team leads.
Experience working in coding languages as outlined in Appendix 9 of RFT2024
Knowledge/experience of project delivery methodologies, application development lifecycle, waterfall development model, agile development model and hybrid development model.
Familiarity with techniques for parsing and manipulating structured data formats, RDBMS, XML, JSON, text files, etc.
Agile Development Environment /Agile Methodology experience and Hybrid Methodology experience where the role demands it.
