Job Description

Role purpose:

Version1 is seeking for a passionate, dynamic, hardworking expert in all things Data Visualisation, using design led approaches and best practice to deliver business outcomes for our clients and solve complex business problems. This role requires exceptional interpersonal skills as you engage with technical and business stakeholders equally - to help understand and define business problems, design solutions and roadmaps, and drive projects from inception (or impasse!) to successful implementation and/or live services.

Qualifications

Key responsibilities: ·

  • 5+ years of experience into development and supporting Fabric data solutions including Dataflows Gen2, Lake houses, Warehouses and Real-Time Analytics where required.
  • Experience with designing and implementing scalable data pipelines that support reporting and analytics requirements.
  • Hands-on experience in data engineering, including data ingestion, transformation and orchestration using technologies such as Microsoft Fabric Data Factory, Azure Data Factory, Databricks or similar platforms.
  • Experience designing and implementing dimensional data models and analytics-ready data solutions.
  • Knowledge of modern data architecture patterns, including Medallion Architecture, Data Warehousing and Lakehouse architectures.
  • Understanding of CI/CD, source control and deployment practices for analytics and data engineering solutions.
  • Setup PowerBI workspaces with appropriate licensing.
  • · Support Integration of Power BI to Databricks workspaces.
  • · Design and develop interactive dashboards and analytical reports using Microsoft Power BI to support data-driven decision-making across the organization.
  • · The role involves connecting Power BI to a variety of data sources, including Azure SQL databases, Microsoft Excel files, and RESTful APIs, to ensure comprehensive and real-time data access.
  • · Build PowerBI reports with required refresh frequency
  • · Challenging customer or project requirements to ensure we are delivering business outcomes to our clients.
  • Essential experience & skills:
  • · Candidates must demonstrate strong proficiency in Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) for advanced calculations, Power Query for data transformation and preparation, and robust data modeling skills to create efficient, scalable, and insightful reporting solutions.
  • · Demonstrable experience designing high-quality data visualisation artefacts and taking solutions to production.
  • · Ability to apply knowledge of current industry trends and techniques to formulate solutions within the context of projects.
  • · Proficient in writing SQL, Stored procedures and views. Creating and optimising complex queries, analysing query performance.
  • · Familiar with agile methodologies.
  • · Knowledge of at least one enterprise cloud, preferably Azure.
  • · Full project lifecycle experience, from initial concept through to deployment and support
  • · SQL skills for querying and creating of views/tables, functions and stored procedures.
  •  Desirable Certifications
  • Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate / Fabric Data Engineer Associate
