Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Azure Automation & Integration Engineer to join our growing Business Support practice. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management, development, and support of Azure Automation and Azure Logic Apps solutions, alongside the wider Azure services ecosystem that supports enterprise automation and integration capabilities.

This role will act as a key escalation point for support issues, ensuring the effective operation of automation workflows, integrations, and Azure platform services while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across client environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage, monitor, and maintain Azure Automation runbooks to ensure reliable and efficient execution.
  • Design, develop, support, and troubleshoot Azure Logic Apps workflows and integrations.
  • Administer Azure platform services, including Storage Accounts, Service Bus, App Services, and Key Vault.
  • Respond to and resolve incidents, service requests, and support tickets in line with agreed SLAs.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot failures within automation processes, integration workflows, and scheduled jobs.
  • Develop and maintain PowerShell and/or Python scripts to automate operational tasks and enhance existing solutions.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation, including runbooks, workflow designs, support procedures, and knowledge base articles.
  • Collaborate with architects, developers, and business stakeholders to deliver new automation and integration capabilities.
  • Participate in change management activities, ensuring solutions are tested, reviewed, and deployed safely.
  • Contribute to incident reviews, root cause analysis, and continuous service improvement initiatives.

Essential Criteria

  • Proven hands-on experience with Azure Automation, including the creation and management of runbooks.
  • Strong experience designing and supporting Azure Logic Apps workflows and integrations.
  • Experience managing Azure services such as Storage Accounts, Service Bus, App Services, and Key Vault.
  • Strong PowerShell scripting skills for automation and operational support.
  • Experience working within ITSM environments using tools such as ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, or Zendesk.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across cloud-based and integrated systems.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced support or managed services environment.
  • Strong team collaboration skills and willingness to support broader operational and service delivery activities.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience with Azure DevOps, including CI/CD pipelines and source control management.
  • Knowledge of Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.
  • Python scripting experience for automation and Azure service integrations.
  • Understanding of process automation and business workflow optimisation.
  • Experience with Microsoft Entra ID, Managed Identities, and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
  • Microsoft Azure certifications such as AZ-900, AZ-104, AZ-204, or AZ-400.
  • Experience working within Managed Services or multi-client support environments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Relevant Microsoft Azure certifications.
  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale Azure environments.

Experience Required

  • 3–5 years of experience in Azure Cloud Engineering, Automation, Integration, or Application Support roles.
  • Proven experience supporting and maintaining Azure-based automation and integration solutions in production environments.
