Job Description

Are you ready to lead the way towards a fossil free future and shape how digital products accelerate the energy transition? At Vattenfall, we are taking bold steps to become less dependent on fossil fuels—and we believe that visionary leadership is essential to reach our goal.

We’re looking for passionate individuals to help us harness the power of the wind and the sun to change the world for the better. Do you want to find your element working for fossil freedom? As a Digital Product Portfolio Director within Business Area (BA) Wind you will play a pivotal role in driving innovation across our digital landscape. If you thrive in an international environment where strategic thinking and collaboration power real change, this could be your next challenge. Join us and help turn ambition into action for a more sustainable tomorrow.

Be in your element with BA Wind

As part of BA Wind you will play a key role in one of the most exciting pipelines in the industry with 24GW of capacity stretching out more than a decade ahead across our key European markets.

You won’t only be involved in developing projects but pioneering cutting-edge innovation, new business models and ways of working with communities and the environment. Working as part of a leading European utility also means you could be helping a growing number of major businesses and brands achieve their own sustainability goals through partnerships.

Qualifications

What will you do?

In this senior role, you will be at the heart of shaping and delivering our digital engineering product portfolio for Business Unit (BU) Offshore part of BA Wind. Our digital engineering division delivers and integrates digital solutions to enable renewable energy production and reliable operations. Your expertise ensures that our solutions consistently support both short-term operational needs and long-term business ambitions, driving asset availability, revenue growth, and compliance across the value chain. You act as a key advocate for the Engineering Backbone operating model, helping us push boundaries in how we develop and deploy digital products.

Success in this position means creating clarity for stakeholders by translating their input into a yearly novated product plan with a multi-year perspective. You make certain that resources are allocated effectively, delivery teams are empowered to achieve results, and every project is closely aligned with strategic goals. By mediating between competing interests within the organisation and external partners, you protect business unit priorities while enabling collaborative progress.

Your tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing the entire digital product portfolio for BU Offshore, ensuring all products meet evolving business requirements;
  • Managing the order book for the digital engineering department and defining clear processes for work intake and prioritisation;
  • Applying advanced stakeholder management skills to capture insights from supplier interactions, project execution, and operations to optimise concept development;
  • Aligning activities with Vattenfall’s Win Build Operate strategies so our projects deliver maximum value across all phases;
  • Facilitating knowledge sharing between internal teams and external partners to drive innovation and accelerate learning.

You will interact with a diverse range of colleagues across Vattenfall as well as suppliers and industry partners. By connecting learnings from daily operations to future developments, you help us stay progressive while maintaining disciplined delivery standards. This role offers an opportunity to shape how we approach digitalisation in offshore wind—combining strategic thinking with hands-on leadership that benefits our customers, society, and team alike.

Who are you

You are an experienced leader with a background in engineering or digital transformation, and you thrive when managing complex portfolios that shape the future of offshore wind. Your proven expertise in change management, business planning, and strategy means you are comfortable driving alignment between multiple stakeholders while keeping sight of long-term goals. You have worked extensively with large-scale digital product portfolios and understand how to balance operational needs with strategic ambitions.

To be successful in this role, you bring:

  • Advanced proficiency in portfolio management tools and software: Essential for overseeing our digital engineering product portfolio across the value chain.
  • A recognised certification in portfolio management such as PfMP, APM, MoP or CPPM is considered an advantage: This demonstrates your ability to manage complexity at scale.
  • Deep knowledge of digital transformation, OT technologies and IT/OT convergence including sensors, networks and data analytics: Critical for supporting innovation and operational excellence.
  • Strong analytical skills paired with a proactive approach to problem solving: Necessary for navigating competing interests and delivering solutions that benefit both our business unit (BU) and Vattenfall’s broader objectives.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken: Vital for effective communication within our international teams.

Your leadership style is collaborative yet decisive; you know how to facilitate decision making among senior stakeholders without losing momentum. You excel at creating a motivating environment where multicultural teams feel empowered to contribute their best ideas. You enjoy building strong networks within large organisations and take pride in translating stakeholder input into actionable plans.

You get excited when working on projects that drive meaningful change across the offshore wind sector. You are at your best when balancing strategic vision with hands-on execution—whether leading teams through uncertainty or capturing insights from suppliers to optimise future developments. If you want to multiply your impact by working together towards fossil freedom, we would like to hear from you.
