Job Description
We are currently looking for Private Banking Business Analyst for our Qatar operations
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university, preferably in Banking, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Information Technology, Accounting, or a related field.
- At least 7 years of relevant experience in Private Banking, Wealth Management, Investments, Business Analysis, Product Management, Banking Transformation, or related domains, preferably within a highly rated international bank.
- Experience in business requirements gathering, stakeholder management, client analytics, wealth management initiatives, and digital transformation projects within the banking sector.
Required Special Skills:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills (including report writing) in English.
- Good interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Understanding of the relevant laws, regulations, and practices.
- Ability to make decisions and follow through with initiatives.
- Personal integrity and self-management.
- Planning, organising, and analytical ability.
- Results oriented.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels of management.
- Strong business analysis, requirements gathering (BRS/BRDs), user stories, process modelling, and stakeholder management skills.
- Good understanding of Private Banking, Wealth Management, Investment Products, Portfolio Advisory, and Digital Wealth capabilities.
- Experience in data analysis, reporting, business performance measurement, and translating business needs into practical solutions and recommendations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities by Dimensions:
A. Shareholder & Financial:
- Support the delivery of Private Banking growth objectives through analysis of AUM, investment penetration, client acquisition, and revenue opportunities.
- Develop analytical insights, reports, and dashboards to support management decision-making and performance monitoring.
- Identify and recommend process improvements, business opportunities, and operational efficiencies that contribute to business growth and value creation.
- Implements KPI’s and best practices for the Business Analyst role.
- Promote cost consciousness and efficiency and enhance productivity, to minimise cost, avoid waste, and optimise benefits for the bank.
- Act within the limits of the powers delegated to the incumbent.
- Demonstrate clear understanding of the important factors behind the bank's financial & non-financial performance.
B. Customer (Internal & External):
- Engage with business stakeholders to gather, analyse, and document requirements for Private Banking, Wealth Management, and Digital Wealth initiatives.
- Collaborate with Relationship Managers, Product, Investment, Operations, and Technology teams to support implementation of business and transformation initiatives.
- Support customer experience improvements by analysing client journeys, identifying service gaps, and recommending process and digital enhancements.
- To assist customers in all their queries on Bank’s product and seek solution to their requests.
- Maintain activities in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with internal departments/units to achieve improvements in turn-around time.
- Build and maintain strong/effective relationships with related departments/units to achieve the Group’s objectives.
- Provide timely/accurate data to external/internal Auditors, Compliance, Financial Control and Risk when required.
C. Internal (Processes, Products, Regulatory):
- Analyse, document, and optimize Private Banking business processes, client journeys, and operating procedures to support business growth and operational efficiency.
- Gather, validate, and manage business requirements for new products, advisory capabilities, digital wealth platforms, and process enhancement initiatives.
- Ensure that business requirements (BRS/BRD), solutions, and operational processes comply with applicable regulatory requirements, internal policies, governance standards, and risk controls.
- Contribute to the implementation of Private Banking transformation initiatives by coordinating with business, operations, product, technology, and compliance stakeholders.
D. Learning & Knowledge:
- Maintain a strong understanding of Private Banking, Wealth Management, Investment Products, Digital Wealth capabilities, and Business Analysis methodologies to effectively support business initiatives.
- Continuously enhance knowledge of industry trends, market developments, regulatory requirements, and emerging technologies relevant to Private Banking and Wealth Management.
- Support knowledge sharing and best-practice adoption through effective collaboration with business, product, operations, technology, and advisory stakeholders.
- Proactively identify areas for professional development of self and undertake development activities.
- Seek out opportunities to remain current with all developments in professional field.
E. Legal, Regulatory, and Risk Framework Responsibilities:
- Comply with all applicable legal, regulatory and internal compliance requirements including, but not limited to, Group Compliance Policies and Procedures (AML & CTF, Sanctions Policy, Data Protection Policy, Fraud Control Policy, Whistle Blowing Policy, Conflict of Interest and Insider Dealing Policy).
- Understand and effectively perform your role under the Three Lines of Defence principle to identify measure, monitor, manage and report risks.
- Ensure systematic good outcomes for clients in accordance with Conduct Risk policy.
- Support the framework of RCSA, KRI, Incident reporting and remediation, as appropriate, in accordance with the Operational Risk Management requirements.
- Maintain appropriate knowledge to ensure full qualification to undertake the role.
- Complete all mandatory training provided by the Bank, attain, and maintain the required levels of competence.
- Attend mandatory (internal and external) seminars as instructed by the Bank.
F. Other:
- Ensure high standards of data protection and confidentiality to safeguard commercially sensitive information.
- Maintaining utmost confidentiality concerning customer and internal bank information obtained during the course of business and provide such information on a need to know basis only to Senior Management of Audit and Compliance functions, and relevant Regulators.
- Maintain high professional standards to uphold reputation and to strengthen its market leadership position.
- All other ad hoc duties/activities related to that management might request from time to time.
