Job Description
We're looking for a friendly, organized, and motivated Patient Care Coordinator to become the first impression of our practice. If you enjoy helping people, thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment, and take pride in delivering outstanding customer service, we'd love to meet you. - Register new patients and accurately collect demographic, insurance, and financial information
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments using electronic scheduling systems
- Verify patient insurance eligibility, benefits, deductibles, copayments, coinsurance, and coverage limitations before treatment
- Obtain and track prior authorizations, referrals, and precertification’s to ensure timely patient care
- Notify patients of insurance benefits, estimated financial responsibility, and any authorization requirements.
- Collect copayments, balances, and process patient payments according to office procedures
- Communicate effectively with therapists regarding scheduling needs and patient concerns
- Answer multi-line phones and respond promptly to patient inquiries
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of one year of medical front office, medical receptionist, or healthcare administrative experience preferred
- Experience verifying insurance benefits and obtaining prior authorizations is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) preferred
- Strong computer and data entry skills with excellent attention to detail
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced environment
- Dependable, self-motivated, and adaptable to changing priorities
- Positive attitude with a strong commitment to teamwork and patient-centered care
