Job Description
Our client is hiring a Founding Business Development Lead to own the full commercial motion of a fast-growing AI-powered e-learning platform. The right candidate will build the GTM strategy from the ground up, run the full sales cycle from outreach to close, and work directly with the founder to establish a scalable, repeatable revenue engine.
The ideal candidate deeply understands the product, integrates sales strategy with marketing plans, and brings the confidence, resilience, and relationship-building skills needed to open doors and close deals in the organizational learning, EdTech, and corporate training space.
Responsibilities
- Own the full go-to-market strategy, from ICP definition and channel prioritization to messaging, positioning, and outreach execution.
- Build and manage a qualified sales pipeline through strategic outbound prospecting, inbound lead nurturing, and relationship development across target verticals including creative agencies, corporate learning teams, educational platforms, and organizational development buyers.
- Lead discovery calls and product demonstrations, deeply understanding the platform to communicate its value clearly and compellingly to a range of buyer personas.
- Convert prospects into customers by navigating the full sales cycle from first touch through negotiation and close, with a consistent focus on pipeline velocity and deal quality.
- Collaborate with the founder to integrate sales strategy with marketing plans, ensuring outreach, content, and campaigns are aligned and mutually reinforcing.
- Maintain CRM hygiene and follow-up discipline, ensuring every opportunity is tracked, every conversation is documented, and no deal falls through the cracks.
- Help establish a scalable, repeatable sales process, including playbooks, pitch assets, and qualification frameworks, that the company can build on as the team grows.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in business development, sales, or GTM roles, ideally within EdTech, organizational learning, creative agencies, corporate training, or advertising; exposure to online learning companies is a plus.
- Proven track record of building pipeline from scratch and closing deals, not just executing within an established process.
- Strong product intuition: able to quickly internalize a platform's value proposition and translate it into compelling, buyer-specific conversations.
- Confident communicator with polished written and verbal English skills (C1 or above) and the ability to lead high-stakes discovery calls and demos with senior stakeholders.
- Resilient and relationship-driven: someone who handles rejection well, stays consistent under pressure, and builds trust naturally with prospects and partners.
- Experience with CRM platforms and outbound sales tools; organized and disciplined in pipeline management and follow-up.
- Comfortable leveraging AI tools to improve prospecting, research, outreach, and workflow efficiency.
- Self-directed, entrepreneurial, and hungry; someone who identifies opportunities and moves on them quickly.
