Job Description


Our Design Team is seeking a Design Consultant to join our team. This position serves as a primary point of contact for design oversight and strategic coordination throughout the project lifecycle. You will bridge the gap between complex client requirements and architectural delivery, ensuring all design solutions align with business objectives, project budgets, and quality standards. Working in collaboration with project management teams and external architectural practices, you will play a critical role in sh
aping the built environment for our clients.
 

What You’ll Do:

Managing the performance of external design consultants, including architects, engineers, and specialty contractors, from appointment through construction administration. • Ensuring all design deliverables adhere to client branding, functional requirements, and sustainability goals. • Conducting design reviews at key milestones to verify compliance with the project brief and technical specifications. • Facilitating the value engineering process while maintaining design integrity and quality. • Providing early warnings for potential design schedule delays and implementing mitigation strategies. • Coordinating between internal stakeholders, project managers, and the design team to resolve complex technical challenges. • Managing the documentation process for permit applications and regulatory submissions. • Representing the client’s interests during design meetings to ensure alignment with the overarching project vision. • Developing and delivering architectural briefs based on collected business and stakeholder requirements. • Managing design consultant output to ensure accuracy, transparency, and accessibility.

Qualifications

 

  • B.A. or B.F.A. in Interior Design from a Council for Interior Design Accreditation curriculum or a B.A. or M.A. in Architecture from an accredited architectural curriculum.
  • NCIDQ certification or architectural registration is preferred.
  • 1 to 5 years of experience in commercial project design, construction, or project management.
  • Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex business and technical documents.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Suite, AutoCAD, and Revit.
  • Sophisticated knowledge of financial terms and principles, including the ability to conduct budget analysis and track project costs.
  • Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on sophisticated topics to clients, management, and project teams.
  • Ability to empower and negotiate effectively with external consultants and internal stakeholder groups to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of building codes, zoning regulations, and industry-standard procurement processes.
  •  Ability to make decisions with an in-depth understanding of company policies and business practices.

Additional Information


The base salary range for this role is $65,000-$80,000, USD. This range reflects the company's good faith estimate of the base salary for this position at the time of the posting. Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity. In addition to base salary, employees may be eligible for bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package.
